It's open. I believe you're allowed on it about anytime with the exception of during the race/s.

Default One more question

Actually, two questions.

Is the course SS-able? I was thinking about just riding with the wife, but she's been off the bike for over a year. I can pace with her on the SS (except where I need the momentum).

Is it flexible? Like, is there a connector somewhere in there that we can take to make a shorter loop?

As far as SS goes, I'm not a good person to ask as I use all 27 of my gears!!! Ask Surlygal and 1x1 Clyde!!

I remember cutting off the last part of the course last time we did it, but can't remember the details, sorry.

It's totally SS-able! I did it last year, and if I can do it, anyone can

When is everyone going up? We're leaving on Wednesday and hope to ride something/somewhere/sometime on Thurs

We are going up Wednesday morning and riding the XC course in the afternoon. Thursday for me is booked with DS and DH. I think there are several people planning on a Thurs afternoon cruise.

Heading up Wednesday for sure. I'll be on the course, DS, bright and early Thursday morning.

All I can say is, you all have a great race, have fun, and I will think about you. This years lack of planning (I almost made it) and lack of information about the course (plus 3 lacrosse games my daughter is playing) sort of killed it for me. See you next year! K

We will miss you. FWIW, all of the information, maps, etc. are on the Sea Otter website (and I posted them above).

You should poach the trails at night like Sarah and I did last year

Rode the course this afternoon. Dry and some dh sections with deep sand. They are running the course backwards. More opportunities to pass in the beginning. Had fun! Oh btw max speed was 32 mph :-)

Backwards from what the course was last year? Or the same backwards course that they're used the last couple of years

Are the site directions correct at least?

We take off toward the Super D course and return as if heading to the DH race course?
