Ok, this Knucklehead (Me
) needs some more guidance. How long should my bars on my new Niner be? Are they traditionally longer than those on a 26"? The bars on my Id are about 26.5, give or take. Is this a reasonable size for a 29er? Also, do you run a flatbar or with rise? PS: I am going with the Hope II and archs for the wheels, thanks to everyone for the help on that one.

If you run 26.5" bars on your little bike, you should run 29.5" bars on your big boy bike.
jkI really like the Salsa Pro-Moto carbon flat bar. I have it on two of my bikes. I wouldn't mind a short trim on both sides to narrow it up a TAD, but we've yet to mess with it.

The hype, the hype !
![]() Make sure those Hope II's are 29'er compatible. ![]() I'd go with flat bars just to keep the front end height low as possible. The amount of width and sweep is of personal preference.

I run a 710mm Niner Flat-Top bar on mine. I put it on a couple weeks ago and love it. I had a 5 degree stem and riser bars before and never felt right. I put a 0 degree stem and the flat bars and it is so much more comfortable. I have big shoulders too, so the width is fine with me as well.

) needs some more guidance.

jk
You can quote me on that!
, after two rides , i find it a bit too long so i might cut 0.25" each side and will take it from there and will shorten it until it feels good.
