Congrats Homie!!!

Lee is absolutely correct, "...there's nothing better than "working" in an environment that you love!"

With regard to "no longer" needing dress shirts, ties and dry cleaning, uh, how much do you think you will be spending on Specialized socks, lycra, jerseys, windbreakers, pullovers, hats etc.
This job could cost you a fortune!

Again, Congratulations...

I wish I can find a low pressure job I'd enjoy that still pays as well as a high pressure job. Congrats!

Thanks!

I can justify all that by my $500+/month savings on fuel!

It's called reallocation and redistribution of income and savings.

A job you love....i'm envious. I think there's another Chris at the MV store. He sold me some shoes. Is Eric still the head honcho there?

Well I've never worked at a bike shop, but I don't know if it could be considered a "low pressure" job.

I've heard stories of Tani "cracking the whip".

Then there are the late night builds, irate customers, and the list goes on.

Running a profitable, quality, brick and mortar bike shop seems very demanding.

CeeDubb,
I just checked out your website. Very slick.

Only problem is you are going to have to get rid of that pretty Madone.
I foresee a Tarmac or Roubaix in your future.

Thanks. I wasn't responsible for the original layout, but I spent many hours tweaking the code.

Tarmac SL2 to be more precise. But my Trek is so pretty, I couldn't bear to part with it.

I hope you have will power to "just say no". If I had a job like that, I'd be scared that my paycheck would arrive in a box of bike bling every month.

Now convince them and all bike shops to be open later than 7pm please I think 8-9pm would be perfect for those that dont get home from work until 7pm and still want to hit up the shop.

No kidding! And it's even rare for many bike shops to even be open until 7! Don't most of the shops know that most customers who buy high-end bikes work during the day?

I have the same complaint with OFFROAD shops. They close their doors at 6pm and many arent open at all on weekends. When do they think people wanna shop????

I think good bike or offroad shop hours would be 10am-8/9pm just short staff the less busy hours. Weekends swap it around a bit maybe 9am-4pm most people can get there during the middle of the day. The key would be effective staffing which shouldnt be too tough to get in line
