Default SDMBA Skills Clinic **Photos**

Had a great time today at the Skills Clinic, thanks to the San Diego Mountain Biking Association for a great event, special thanks to Joy from Joyridemtb.com, I did her advance xc clinic and really like it, she has a way to teach so easy to follow, and also to Kevin for showing us some amazing trail skills, makes it look so easy and smooth.
Great to see some STR riders again and meet some new ones.

I had a good time at the clinic today. I learned some new skills and re-learned some old ones, but mostly I had to come face-to-face with my lack of skills.

That is one of the things I like best about mountain biking--Even when I stink at it, I still have a good time.

I wish you had some video clips. Those pictures seem like there was some awesome techniques to watch.
I love that kind of stuff because its the most efficient way to improve. Rarely do we stop on a downhill and "retry" a section. This way it's concentrated, safe, and people can tell you exactly what you are doing wrong.
Very cool.

Sorry I don't have video but I noticed someone in the group had a video camera, not sure if an STR rider, some of the trail moves I will like to see over and over, he was too fast.

Got a favor to ask of m0to, bajamtnbkr and anyone else that took photos, can SDMBA use your photos for the SDMBA news webpage.
I would also like to forward all of your photos to the instructors Joy, Rick and Kevin, or if you would like to forward your photos yourself and give a thanks, PM me and I will give you there emails.

Thanks, Jose. I can picture the correct way to do a technique, but sometimes it does not translate well from the brain to the muscles. I just need to relax.

I can ride almost anytime except Saturday mornings. I am usually willing to hit Mission Trails or Sycamore (starting from the South).

Talking Skills clinic

Great session today and a really good turnout too! Thanks to SDMBA for setting this up. It did get a little toasty out there after 6 hours or so, but it was still a great time.

Best new skill I learned today? Joy had a flat tire on her rear wheel. She un-did the quick release and unscrewed and completely removed the skewer before taking the wheel off to fix it. It slid right out and slide right back in again, with no hanging up on the rear derailleur. Pretty snazzy... (Please tell me that I'm not the only dumba$$ who struggles like hell to get the wheel off and on again around the cage of the rear derailleur...?? Anyone?? anyone?? )
