The Specialized Adaptalite series are awesome!! The price is pretty steep, but worth it. I got mine for half off--$70, but I would say they are worth the full $140.

Not having to worry about too dark/too light is very handy. Plus, the venting is pretty good so the fogging is minimal.

I know the OP said he made his choice and all, but I thought I'd chime in. I love Oakley shades. My wife, a phenomenal woman, bought me the Half-Jackets for Christmas. I got the gold irridium lens plus a replacement set of clear. I think they rock! They're so light I forget I'm wearing them and the rimless design provides a wide view. The clear lenses are great for night and dim lighting. I want to get a set of yellow for overcast days and see how that is.

Personally, I feel that the last thing I want to go cheap on is eyewear. My eyes are a pretty valuable as sensory organs go. I'd be pretty pissed if a rock or a stick hit me in the face and shattered the plastic and the thing that was supposed to protect me ended up injuring me. Plus, since I paid so much for my glasses, I take care of them. I clean them, put them in a protective case and keep track of them. When I bought cheap sunglasses I lost them, sat on them and generally abused them. So, I had to buy new glasses every six months. I have a pair of Straight Jackets that I bought in 2000, my first Oakleys. I still wear them. My math says that those $80 shades actually cost me less than $10 shades every six months for five years.

Oakleys are well made and engineered for precision. They offer distortion-free lenses that are impact resistant to ANSI standards. And, they look bitchen. Oakleys have some pretty funny marketing, but the proof is in the pudding. They are fine eyewear.
