Sweet Man! Congrats on ordering the bike! I can't wait to hear your impressions and see the bike in action on the trials, I've been curious about the world of the 29 inch tire. You going to run your crank bros pedals on her???

So I would imagine that the madien voyage will be ASAFP upon arrival?

And you can't go wrong with a bike named after a cool fish can you???

But then you'll practically have a bike for everyday of the week!

Matt deserves a new bike and I figured it'd be good to give back some of the ad money the site has made. Now I just gotta meet him for the first time so I can hand him some bike money

But yeah - congrats on the 29ner!

Default Switchback Cycles

Is switchback any good? I've never been in there, but pass it frequently on my way to oaks. I live rather close too. I usually head over to Adrenaline.

There are no bikes named after the fish that I'm currently studying (redfish) but I'd be down with a 29er anyways! But redfish and cobia live in similar places though, so that should count for something right?!?!?!

They are a great shop. Run by a mom & pop. Treat thier customers really well. Usually quick service turnaround.

Stop in and check them out sometime.

I though you meant a bike from Niner Bikes until I read your post.

Default Real Redfish

How about a real redfish? Caught by my son back in 2000 when we lived in Florida. He caught this on a Snoopy rod/reel combo with the drag completely rusted solid. Funniest thing to watch a 6 year old fight a fish that nearly drug him into the canal!

That's great! I remember having one of those Snoopy fishing rigs way back when too!

Most of the pics I have are of little juvenile fish are not nearly as photogenic as a large "caught by hand" specimen. The great irony of grad school is that I never even caught one of these fish in the wild! After spending so much time working with fish the last thing I wanted to do when I got off work was fish! So I rode bikes in my spare time instead! I'd say it was time well spent!

lol idk. But one of the negatives of a 29er is that u can taco and ding up your wheels easier.

You will be fine. I was a little worried about the same thing when I had my 29er. After 8 months of riding it never had one wheel go out of true.
