Not to get too political on you but...
Closing Topanga, Will Rogers, Montana de Oro and 45 others would be kind of tragic. Everyone should fill something like this out: http://www.environmentcalifornia.org...on/state-parks |

The best solution to this will be to put together team of volunteers for the purpose of patrolling trails and documenting violations of the rules. Just like volunteer Fire Fighters the are huge needs to fill but only so much cash in the state coffers. It's possible that sending 14 billion a month overseas to spread democracy at gunpoint might explain the shortfall. However since war machines and oil are still generating record profits for their influential shareholders the publics needs and benefits will continue to be neglected.

Done.
I must be dense and I don't want to threadjack, but I really don't understand how the US Gov can send so much money and manpower overseas to help others when we obviously need it here also. We have too many homeless people, too people without jobs, incomes that can barely support one person let alone an entire family, we're moving jobs overseas and we have one of the crappiest if not the worst healthcare systems. The population continues to grow and they continue to spend money elsewhere instead of helping here, as with the above or the state parks. Don't get me wrong, I like living here and I feel fortunate that I have so many opportunities and I'm able to survive on my own, but where are we going to end up? What's this place going to look like in 25, 50, 100 years? Sorry, but this stuff really riles me up and when I drive down the road in major traffic and see all that open land that the Irvine Co owns and no one can enjoy it, I get all fired up. Guess I need to get some sleep. I'm done.
