No word. I've been eyeing those, too.

Still waiting for the reviews to hit when CB sends them out to testers.

My Mavic CrossMax SLRs were $900 (MRSP).

I'm sure those will be the wheels that they'll be compared to...

Dear Crank Bros. I love you, but I can't afford all of this. I'm going to have to see other wheels.

Oh they're being tested. Maybe not yet by mags, and online journalists yet. We saw a couple dudes at San Juan riding those wheels. Quite nice in person.

Get them, takes some nice pics of 'em on your bike, and then please try to thrash 'em! Dying to hear how they hold up. Oh, they're UST right?

I don't know about "thrashing" as I don't really jump or huck anything.

They're comparable in weight to my CrossMax SLRs. So I'm just hoping that they're just as stiff. Makes for good climbing. My Mavics have stayed true for the 2 years that I've had them. The roughest stuff that I've gone over on a regular basis is probably FallLine in Big Bear and Rock-It.

If I get them, you'll definitely get a report.

I believe that Crank Brothers also has an All-Mountain wheelset in development. It's red instead of blue. I wish there was a choice to get the XC wheelset in red, as well.

Those may be the ticket for the Lard Arses out there...

From these older pics it looks like they modified the engineering on the how the valve stem integrates to the rim. Probably much better because with the old design, you probably couldn't get your pump to fully seat on the valve.

Here was my post on that.

Frank, Joe and the CB crew have been flogging the All Mountain Rims here in Laguna for months and they have held up well. Frank told me is pricing will be close to a XTR wheel set on the XC Rims. They sure are purdy, but to me they look like they belong on a road bike.

Good god. CB is the Apple of MTB.

Those wheels sure are super cool. But for a grand, I could get another bike.

Doesn't look like it. I counted the spokes on the All-Mountain wheel in the pic above and those are 24 spokes. Just looks as if the rim is beefier than the XC.

yeah, CB is basically a design company where everyone loves to mountain bike. That equals amazing design. I just wish they could make amazing designs with materials that could be affordable. Mountain biking is already so hard to get into. Most bikes cost more than a first car. Living in So Cal is already costing so much.
