Default Crank Bros. extended customer warranty.

So, I'm out riding by LCWP by myself yesterday. I do a drop in El moro and then pedal out to T&A for the final drop, where I happen to meet Frank and Joe, Frank owns Crank Bros. They're out riding and I've ridden with them before so we start talking, I ask them where they're going and we set off for the trailhead. As we get close to the trailhead I realize that I can't clip into my left pedal. When I get a chance to look at my Acid I find that the spring has broken and my cleat won't engage. Talk about timing. Frank tells me how to take the fireroad down to the tennis courts off laguna canyon rd., and then how to get to the Crank bros. office, located about 100 yds from the beach in Laguna. They meet me there about 15 minutes later I'm walking out of their HQ with a brand spankin' new set of Mag and CF acids.

Went riding again today, new pedals are nice!

Talk about timing! I just took my pedals back to Jax ( candy sls) yesterday after 3 months one of the cleats broke. Waiting to see if jax will take care of it. If not Im heading down to crank bros.

shimano cleats will work with shimano pedals. the term "spd" is used loosely when describing 'clipless' pedals.

each style of 'clipless' pedal has a specific cleat that will only fit is brand of pedal, ie: crank bros, shimano, time, etc...

oh, i see what you are talking abotu now... the cleat is what is supposed to mate to the pedals... but the shoes aren't really the pair up criteria...

Most mtn bike shoes will have the same mounts on the bottom that will hold SPD(Shimano), Crank Bros, and Time "cleats". But each "cleat" is specific to the pedel. A Shimano cleat will NOT clip into a Crank Bro pedal or Time to Shimano...,etc.

More importantly, I see DW-Link. What bike is it?

spd shoes will work with every mtb clipless pedal, spd cleats only work with shimano, and the welgo or vp clones, ie. coda, ritchey, and various house brand pedals.

Yeah, although I ride SPD I can't say enough good things about CB. They are always super cool. I just wish my wallet was bigger.

thats really awsome of crank bros to do that, it also makes you feel better about the product on your bike, that warm fuzzy feeling of being secure and know that you wont have any problems if it breaks, i know i do, i run candy SL's

Can I walk in there without calling? All three of my CB pedals are in massive need of some servicing.
