Default Why I try to stay away from going to the bike shop.

So, I went in with the sole purpose of just getting some replacement pulleys. To replace the ones that I had broken. But while I was waiting for them to find the parts I started looking at the egg beaters. Long story short, now I have some egg beaters to replace my heavy ass Shimano 520's.

Ah, the slippery slope of biking...

If that hasn't happened to someone they're either new to biking or have willpower of steel (or they're lying)!

I think you'll dig the beaters. I know I do!

Somehow my mind convinces me that I "need" something when I really don't. Can't seem to figure out how it does that.

Man, that's the best one, isn't it?!?!?
You tell yourself, "I absolutely NEED that (insert component here). I can't even imagine how I ever rode a mile without (insert component here)!"

The best is when you try to explain to your wife why you "need" the new thing when you already have a perfectly working--but totally unacceptable--old one.
"Yeah honey, I know it looks the same, but the EA 70 is so much better than the EA 50..."
