Default Gigantic bug clouds along Santiago Cyn Rd
Hey,

I was driving on Santiago Canyon Rd. this weekend and right near the entrance to Irvine Lake there was a GIGANTIC cloud of bugs maybe 20ft up in the air above the road. From a distance it almost looked like smoke, but it's wasn't. It was enormous, something like 1/4 mile long. I couldn't tell what kind of bugs they were since I was driving a convertible with the top down and the only thing on my mind at the time was getting the **** out of there ASAP! My coworker came up to me today and said he saw the same thing. Anyone know what they are?

i saw that int he median on 133 north bound between 405 and 5 fwy yesterday it was crazy...like a column of them

June Bugs maybe? I remember slapping into a pile of them in the I.E.

Locusts...

maybe the end is near

There has been a ton of bugs everywhere. I think due to all the water?

The gnats should just plain SUCK this year in the mountains

they're smaller looking like bee sized

Could be Bee swarms. It's the time of year for them to swarm and I've ridden through quite a few recently. So far, no stings. Scary though.

you know that paved road coming out of aliso to go up to MILF park...there's those purple bushes there. rode past it yesterday and the dam thing was humming and buzzing like crazy w/ bee activity

Ick! We were riding Chino yesterday afternoon and had a huge swarm of bees fly over us. Scary stuff.
