Default Passport Timeline???

What is the time line on getting a new passport now a days? Im going to South Africa later this year for 3 months, Johannesburg to be exact and i was just curious how long it would take to get one. Anyone been there? got any good spots to check or any cool areas to explore?

It looks like more than 4 weeks unless you submit for expediting your passport (extra cost) and then it's 3 weeks total.

Wow! nice searching! Thats not too bad... for some reason i thought it was 12 weeks since you cant even cross the border into mexico without a passport now.
