Well...
Might be kind of cool on the frame (Parkpre, right?), but as I'm sure you know, it isn't anything like what we think of today. If you've got, or can find the parts, then yes. They still look pretty cool. Love the CNC bridge and all. Heck, we converted a "3" to the old style Klein (Attitude) headset di (1 1/4?) a couple of years ago now. The guy is still riding it! I kind of like "restoring" bikes to their correct vintage. I'm still kicking myself (for almost 20 years) for selling my IRC Ti (non suspension) fork - 1" HT. Man I wish I still had that. |

I may be repeating something here since i didnt read all posts. If i were you i'd try to find a spring that'll fit in there. I converted my old halson fork to a spring. it worked so much better. It would actually give when i hit a bump.

I converted an old Judy XC to a semi rigid - it was originally spring/elastomer, but it was all worn out. I replaced the elastomer with a piece of aluminum - actually a cut piece of old flat handlebar and went to a higher rate spring. I use this for my city bike (converted old mountain bike) and it is stiff enough to stand up and sprint without bottoming out, but the spring has just enough give to take the edge off the bumps. Not sure if you could do something similar with that Manitou.
