Default Local Captain missing

Received an email to watch for a local Fire Captain missing so please pass on any info if you remember seeing him or his truck at any of the local riding areas? Thanks...found this to post about him.
Palasios was last seen around noon Friday. Ontario police are searching for this missing man.
The Ontario Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a man who has been missing since noon Friday. Rogelio Palasios, 43, left home to take a bike ride at either Chino Hills State Park or Claremont Hills Park. It is unclear if he made it to either park.
He is Latino, 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds. Palasios has black hair and brown eyes. He has a surgery scar on his right knee and gun shot wounds scars on his left calf. Palasios was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and black bike shorts.
Palasios's vehicle is also missing and described as a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck. The vehicle has a California license plate number of 6E45308. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ontario Police Department at (909) 395-2001.

Holy sh!t! I know this guy! I worked for the local Ambulance company for 8 years and ran more calls with him and that FD than I can remember. I need to make some calls and see if I can help look for him. Unbelievable.

Default Check any of your local spots

Thanks for any help I've worked for the local departments but don't know him personally he works out of Chino Valley Fire . Found out they are just guessing which parks he may have gone to so he very well could have gone anywhere in So. Cal so watch at any of your local riding areas for his truck parked? A helicopter already checked the entire Chino State Park . Again it's a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado pick-up truck license plate number of 6E45308.
Thanks again!

Just a little additional information the bike is a blue and white Kona Nunu. Let's hope for the best they only have so much info to go on that this could be the case so if you remember a white truck that's just been sitting at a trailhead write down the license you never know??
Thanks again....

I missed the story/details that just came up on the news but very sad to report that he was found dead with no foul play next to a jogging trail. My prayers to his family and the the fire dept. for a huge loss.

Edit: Turns out it was a suicide...the possibility was mentioned to me earlier but was hopeful would not be the case. Very sad.

I have not been watching the news (I go through stages that it just pisses me off) but thanks for the update.

His family and friends will be in our thoughts.

I rode chino yesterday for a little search on our side. I thought it would be a good deed just to pitch in on Easter and help his family out. Wow, what a waste. I should have spent my time with my family.

Here's a quick blub. Sad news, didn't know the guy but it's a terrible end to this story.

http://www.dailybulletin.com/ci_8673994

Missing man found dead ONTARIO - A man reported missing was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Sunday morning.
The body of Rogelio Palasios, 43, was found in an Escondido park at 9:42 a.m.
Escondido police received a call from someone who reported hearing a gunshot coming from the area of Kit Carson Park around 2 a.m. Sunday, according to an Ontario police news release.
Officers searched the area but did not find anything.
A jogger on a hiking trail in the park discovered a man's body at 9:42 a.m. and called police, according to the statement. Escondido investigators responded and confirmed that the body was Palasios'.
Investigators found a handgun at the scene. There is no indication of foul play, and it appears that Palasios died after he shot himself, according to the statement.
Palasios had been missing since noon Friday, when he went for a bicycle ride at Chino Hills State Park in Chino or Claremont Hills Park in Claremont, according to an Ontario police statement.
Palasios was a Chino Valley Independent Fire District captain.

Damn, that really is sad.

I know what depression is like. I went to doctors and did what they told me to do and took all their "mood pills", nothing really worked for me. I even considered suicide a few times (I'm not that selfish though) and then I picked up mountain biking. I'm dead serious, it did what no pill could do, it changed my whole being. The harder I rode the better I felt. I still do get depressed if I go to long without a good ride. I can live with this addicition though. I just wish it would of worked for this guy the way it worked for me.
