Awesome vid. I thought it was Marshall Canyon for a sec.

The rider in front was Giant Team Manager, Sébastien Chovet. I guess it's a plus to know that the Team Manager can throw down like that.

I second that, is a nice trail and I'm not a downhiller but is the rider trying to make it look more technical that what the trail really is? And along the way doesn't care about other trail users.

I agree, the guy in front was cutting everyone off the trail and not even a heads up. Kinda rude to me. But SOB's were damn fast, I admit.

Those guys are really fast though. i like when the camera gets whacked by a tree

but still, be a bit more courteous to others on the trail. If someone passed me like that, i woulda chased them down and thrown it right back at them. Not cool to cut people off on exposed switchbacks...

IMO, a few of the slower riders noticed the guys coming up fast and pulled over... the guys that got passed didn't bother or didn't know. i've passed people on dh's and have been stuck behind riders slower than myself... i usually just stop and give them time until i end up catching up with them again...

Rude yes, but look at the trail. When you hear people rollin up on you at a ski resort at mach 10, get the F out of the way. Common sense if you ask me!

That may not always be the case.

Either I am going deaf or sometimes when I ride I don't hear anyone behind me until the very last minute. For instance, at the last Fontana race I crashed on the DH course and continued on- little did I know that Gil was right behind me. If he hadn't asked me to pass I would have never known he was there.

I understand, did not think about that. Thanks for the heads up!

I REALLY do wonder though, if it's just me? I'd hate to slow faster people down because I can't hear them. Does anyone else have this problem?

If you're flying downhill with a full face helmet on and wind howling across your helmet you probably aren't going to hear them coming. Not like it was a race or anything

I don't know about that - usually there is enough rattling from the bike that you can hear someone coming up especially if they're right on your tail. Anyone ridden A-line at Whistler? Its a constant stream of riders down the trail all day - so many sometimes, and such varied skill levels it can be almost no fun to ride it.

On one hand the slower rider should get out of the way if he hears someone coming up. But moreso I would say that if you're experienced enough to be that fast you should know better than to pass with that little regard for other riders.

Okay, that video ROCKED!
Dig how the rider would shortcut those switchbacks in order to pass other riders. Yikes!
Tomorrow i'm going a little faster down Rattlesnake and Mach One!

Thats what I was doing at bootleg. I got stuck behind this guy and I kept saying "you mind if I pass?" and the guy would act like he couldnt hear me. I guess he didnt want a 15 year old showin him up.
