The wait...errrr

In my quest for a new trail bike I had narrowed it down to 4 bikes and then two and then one. The one I chose was the Ransom then ThePhat goes and posts that sweet deal on the '08 IH bikes ...

Well, I was working out a deal with "ThePhat" but I had to get the Mrs go ahead before pulling the trigger. At this point the Mrs was out of town so I had to WAIT until she arrived back. I am very impatient when I know a new bike will be arriving some time soon (month or less).

Well the Mrs gets home, I WAIT a day for her to relax and then hit her up to get the new ride, an MKIII Comp which is one of the bikes to make it into my final two. She asks if I will let her think about it, so I said HELL NO!! j/k of course I agreed.

Finally she asks if I liked the MKIII or the Ransom better and I said either is good for me, they excel in different areas but either would stoke me out and be a hell of a lot better for my longer rides then the Stinky. She goes and thinks some more ...

She comes back and says, "Do you really like the Ransom? Whats the price diff between the two?" 7$ is all so that is not a deal breaker. She then says, well I thought you really wanted the Ransom and your B-day is in a few weeks, how about if you WAIT a bit?

Since then there have been small hints but I believe there may be a Ransom 40 stashed at the sister in laws house or it is WAITing for pick up at the shop. I should find out this week.

The WAIT is killing me. errrrrrr!!

Thanks, the B-day is not until next month but I do not think she can keep it a "secrete" that long. She would probably let me have it just to shut me up.

As far as liking surprises sometimes they can be a wonderful thing.

Just an update;

I have tried not to mention anything about a new ride for a week or so then yesterday Hel sends me an email and asks, "Is this a good deal and a good bike? Would you feel the need to change out any components or are they all good?"

I click the link and it is a picture of a Ransom 20 which is the model with an all carbon mainframe.

Once you learn how to adjust a door closer to work like a rear shock, they work pretty well



I kid A friend of mine has the same rig and loves it. I hope your suspiscions are true.
