Default forks?

I was just wondering the pros/cons of using dual crown forks vs single crown forks?

Dual crown = less flex, more stable, more weight, used more on downhill/freeride bikes
Single crown = more flex (usually), less weight, more for cross country/trail bikes

is the turning radius greatly affected on the double crown forks due to the shock conflict with the top tube?

Correct.

Are you thinking of putting a dual crown on your Giant? That would be way overkill, there are plenty of long travel single crown forks out there if you're just looking for more travel. I've got a Sherman Breakout plus on my AS-X which is a single crown w/ 7" of travel and it is just as stiff as the dual crown Super T I've owned in the past. Plenty of stuff to choose from these days, even 8" travel single crowns out now.

Unless you're slamming 10-foot drop-offs on a regular basis, double-crown is overkill.

no no, id rather have a lightweight competitive fork, my friend is all about double crown forks but hes a downhill fanatic so i was just curious as to their pros and cons. id like a beefier fork but im fine with single crowns \/
