Anybody have an opinion on this bike? I've just been dreaming about a new ride.

you should look into the 2005 eduro. Supergo is changing names and they're no longer carrying specialized bikes, so they reduced the price to almost cost on them. The expert is like 2499 (msrp 3299) and the pro is like 3200. Last week they only had a couple though.

Thanks, Rock n Road has the 06 stumpjumer for 2499. It's got 5in front and back suspension. I think the 05 had only 4. what does the enduro have?

With that kind of money I'd go with a 575. Sure I'm biased though
I just wouldnt pay over $2000 for a mass produced Specialized. I dunno, that's just me.

$2499 is only $300 less than the msrp, not a great deal if you ask me. It has some solid components, and seems like a good bike though. Like George said, you can get a 575 fully built in the low $2k range, or for the same price as that Stumpy with some upgraded components.

Maybe I should have waited a few days to read you replies, but I had that new bike bug up my ass and panicked. Anyway, I took the stumpy out yesterday and loved it. Might have been happier with the yeti or the santa cruz, but I'm stoked. Just replaced the tires with mutano raptors and thinking of a new bar with more rise. Everything else on the bike is pretty good stuff.

Nice new rig! Is that a FOX RP3 on the back? What were you riding before? I forgot.

It's a Fox Triad. Got a nice 5" of travel and pro pedal, with the Fox Talas RL up front. I was riding a Gary Fisher sugar 4.

Nice bike.

But watch that under the bottom bracket cable housing. It can get real mucked up fast. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a ghost shifting problem b/c of that housing. When it's time to change, I'd say drill out the stops and go full housing or route it along the top tube.

Glad you like your new ride.

Thanks everybody. Even on days I don't ride I still go out to the garage to look at it ......Thanks Pho'd up for the advice, I'll watch for that.
