Yea for must of the local trails around here all you relly need is the Mule but if your going on longer trips where your going to bring a five course meal, tent, sleeping bag, lights, full body armour, Night vision goggles, two extra tires, four tubes, extra rear derailer, tools, pickle juice then yea go for the Hawg.

Can the Mule or Blowfish carry arm and leg armour? I'm currently using a Velocity and my current rides are surpassing water capacity and it's a pain to carry armour. It's better for short 5-8 mile rides but blows past that.

The Blowfish expands. I think it'd be fine to put elbow/forearms and knee pads.

I've got a Camelbak "Mayhem". It is marketed towards the freeride/dh crowd and can carry shin/knee, elbow and a fullface helmet along with places for tools, tubes, two-way, etc. When not carrying a full set of gear it can be snugged waaay down so it is not very big at all.

It has a separate compartment on top to be used for a video camera although most of the time I will just put a point 'n shoot in there and my MP3 player.

It has a 100oz (3L) bladder, made of denim and has the standard air flow system between your back and the pack.

I would say it is the best pack I have used except for the fact my UltimateDirection pack that is now 9yrs in use is still going strong.

They will run you 100$ but if you go with last years model or even a 2006 you can get one for 70$. Bought mine from CBO for 70$.

I have a mule and it will carry the armour but it is not very good for that. I might actually upgrade so that I can carry that stuff more easily.

Default 2 Camelbak Havoc packs for sale

I currently have 2 Havoc Camelbaks I am looking to sell. I have a black one and a brown one. Retail $109.00. I would be willing to part with them for $50 apiece.

EPIC RIDES DESERVE CAMELBAK’S LARGEST FREERIDE PACK.

THE SUPER-STABLE HAVOC HAS A LARGE COMPRESSION PANEL WITH MESH SIDE PANELS FOR OVERFLOW STORAGE.

A HEAVILY PADDED WEATHER RESISTANT TOP POCKET SAFELY STORES A VIDEO CAMERA OR MP3 AND OPENING THE PACK RIGHT OUT REVEALS A PADDED, FLEECE LINED GOGGLES POCKET AND A LOWER MESH POCKET WITH ORGANISER. OFFERING SO MUCH, THE HAVOC IS THE OFFICIAL PACK OF THE WHISTLER MOUNTAIN BIKE PARK.

I just got the new Dakine Nomad. It's a very nice pack. Lots of useful pockets...IE glasses, GPS, phone, insulated one for trail snacks, helmet, pad straps. The bladder has a nice feature to. The hose has a quick-disconnect from the bladder so it makes filling and cleaning much easier and it doesn't drain when disconnected.

If you carry a lot of crap with you this one has space for it.

Great packs, Did you get the one with the 140oz bladder? I picked mine up when Super-Go was selling them for 16$. Best 16$ I have spent on cycling gear.

You got a better deal than I did.

I think my bladder is 100oz & I remember spending $20-$30. Still a great value.

I have an old mule and a brand new mule, and for me, I like the confort and the weight of the old mule. The new one is bulky, and suprisingly really heavy. Also when filled, it creates a large ball that rests on your back that's not too comfortable. The air movement that is supposed to help for sweat does work a little bit, not much though, they would be better off not using foam and start using a suspension design. It could be very comfortable if done right and would eliminate the sweat problem. The valves are definitly better on the new version, but I feel that the company went the wrong direction with their stuff. The most useful option other than actually holding water, the elastic bands across the back, were left out of the new design.... Yea whoopy, I get a padded case for my ipod. I never use it since you have to take your pack off to get to change the tunes.
