Wow. I love seeing wild animals, it's one of the many great things about getting out and doing what we do. Deer is fun to see, but it makes me worry a bit about Lions (where there's food, there'll be someone to eat the food).

Very fat and very colorful. The photo does not do justice. It looked like it recenly shed. Its colors were phenominal and its eyes were very clear.

Rob spotted this little fella a while ago after the tech section of rattesnake.

We were excited to come across this guy on lower Holy Jim, Mountain King Snake.

It looks like that King snake is a couple of days from shedding.
Great pics!

More Nature from today.

Seeing a lot of nice stuff out there lately.

These two faced-off for about a minute before the tarantula hawk stung the tarantula and hauled him off the trail.

Interesting sight

Nice pics again Adam! Before that thread about the T-Hawk on mtbr awhile back I had no idea what those were. I even rode right by one that was in battle with a Tarantula and didn't stop because I just figured the Tarantula was eating the bug

The Tarantula is only paralyzed, the tarantula hawk lays its eggs in it. Then the tarantula is larvae food...

Wow...nice you guys! Get these pics while you can...with all the development in OC still thriving, there won't be many wild animals left before too long.

I remember back in high school, Whiting Ranch felt like an escape from civilization. Now you practically ride through people's back yards and look up at houses from half of the trails there. Makes me so friggin angry.

Anyway, nice pics!
