All weekend I was looking to Tuesday as my big ride day but when this morning came I was just tired. I took the kids to school and when I got home it was quiet and comfy. I say down and was not even close to going on a ride. I kept staring at the road bike and it was just not lighting that spark. I turned on the laptop instead. Of course I ended up here and started reading, I kept glancing at the little pics on the side of the main page and I kept watching the clock tick down. When I went to the kitchen to get a drink I saw the FSR and between STR and the bike staring at me I felt the fire return.
I hoped on the bike (thank god for keeping the bikes ready to ride at a moments notice) and took off, I had no real idea of where I was going so I just rode. Well nearly 6 hours later I got home. I rode out to my work, since I still felt good I continued into Temecula and ended up by the Chipotles around noon so I stopped and had a chicken fajita bowl. I realized my mtn bike mags would probably be on the shelf so I stopped at Barnes and Noble. I rode around for another twenty minutes or so and stopped at Bicycle Warehouse to use their restroom. I ended up chatting with them for about 15 minutes and then it was back on the ride and on my way home. I kept getting distracted by this road or that and just meandered my way home. I found a new trail to the north of Murrieta and rode that into my backyard and there you go 6 hours of riding fun. No training really, just riding for the thrill of riding. I'd say probably 80% road but what the heck. So I give a big Thanks to everyone for the inspiring posts, pics and cool conversation!!! I'll see you out on the trail. ![]() ![]()

Most of the trails that are available to me locally (ie I can get to without driving) are simply routes carved out of the open country by dirt bikes. So they are a lot of straight up one side of the hill and bomb down the other. The one I found yesterday was actually one of the longer ones and will be fun on a longer travel bike. I did it backwards yesterday and it was actually pretty fun. If I hadn't of found it in the 5th hour of riding I probably could've ridden up it. I was fairly worn out at that point so it was HAB for me. The other side was fun though!
