So, made a last minute trip to Phoenix this morning for work and I find myself having some free time. Who knows of some good bike shops out here? VonSkip? Anyone? Something like a Path/Adrenaline/Switchback type of shop. Always like poking around the good ones. I am staying in Scottsdale but anything in the surrounding area!
Thanks! Jordan

I have not found the Arizona Shops to be on bar with the OC shops. Most do walkin repairs because of all the out of towners but they don't have many highend parts in stock.
Catus Bike has a shop near Pima Canyon Entrance to South Mountain. https://www.cactusbike.com/store/control/contact-us NOTE: South Mt. is hard on bikes. Dean

Here is a link to our crit
http://www.asuctc.com/2008crit.pdf Rage link http://www.ragecycles.com/ Showcase http://www.bicycleshowcase.com/ Showcase is actually one of our ASU sponsors. Mention you know Matt from ASU, maybe they'll hook you up. Both Rage and Showcase are high end shops. Rage is cooler cuz it a small shop with Turners, Titus's and Niners and other good stuff. |

+1 for Rage.
I used to go to DNA Cycles, but it's all the way out toward the east side of Mesa (Power & McKellips). The cool thing is that there are some sick trails out there that you can ride to from the shop. Cactus is cool too...close to SoMo as was already mentioned. edit: Just saw that you are going to AJ. You should definitely stop by DNA Cycles, then. Don is the owner...nice guy. If you go, tell him Stephanie from their old 24-hr team sent ya. |

Last time I was at Cactus (about 3 years ago), they didn't have much for bikes in the shop and are usually pretty busy (but pretty laid back).
Jordan...another edit: DNA Cycles opened up another location in Scottsdale, but I would still go to the one in Mesa. |

I've been Cactus Bikes. Nice folks. Fish, is the guy I talked to and he was definitely friendly and happy to tell us about what to ride at South Mountain.
Jordan, if have time, you might want to drop by Titus bikes. A few years ago, when I was there, you could demo bikes, and they'd give you a quickie tour their operations. Also, if you go to South Mountain or Cactus Bikes. This place is right around the corner and has the BEST taquitos I've ever had. Still can't find a better one. Jordansrealm:
I'm riding Trail 100 tomorrow (Saturday) if you have time to squeeze in a ride. It's a 20 mile out-and-back ride in the North Mountain Preserve in the heart of Phoenix and takes approx. 2.5 hours to complete. I will also be doing a ride on Sunday afternoon at Thunderbird Park in Glendale (around 10-12 miles in total). Unfortunately, I don't have a bike you can borrow but if you have access to one, let me know ![]()

Just left Rage Cycles, thanks for the reco there! Great shop with a good selection of bikes. Gary Fischer, Titus, Niner, Yeti, Tuner, they even had an Orange frame and many others. Definitely had a Path feel to it with alot of stuff jam packed into a small building. A ton of roadie stuff as well. They had one of the new GF Superfly's in all of its 22lb glory. Damn sexy if you ask me. Both the guys there were nice as well so check them out if you find yourself in the neighborhood.
