MOD EDIT: Merged threads 4/27/08 The MWBA Pancake Breakfast is upon us! This is a raffle with major swag. A Foes frame is always the big draw. I usually buy way too many tickets and win way too much swag. It's really very lucrative! This year the celebs are Gary Fisher AND Kieth Bontrager who will lead a ride early from JPL (7AM) doing Brown and El P. Then up to the Cobb estate at the top of Lake St. for the raffle & Pancakes! The whole shebang is to raise $ for volunteer trail maintenance in our beloved San Gabes. I can support that!

Just want to say thanks to everyone who has checked out this thread and to those who are coming over.
People get a kick out of the games we have every year and this year we have added two new games! Bike Limbo & Water Bottle Slalom! These two games people really get into, they turn into real nail bitters! We also have a Frame toss contest and will have a small frame for the kids! If you can't make the early ride, come have some Panckaes (meet Keith & Gary) and win some cool prizes. Heck! You can go for a quick ride after you have won something! I have attached some images of the games and some maps for you to view! Thanks! |

Seriously, with the days as long as they are now, why is anyone doing anything besides sleeping at 7 am on a Saturday morning.

The raffle tickets will be a dollar and as for the swag. I'm not in charge of stuff, but I did hear a while back of Chris King (Head & Hubs), NiteRider, Fox, Thomson (bunch of gift certificates), Giro, Formula Brakes, Camelback and much more. I'll have to ask about the about the grandprizes!
My good friend spent $5.00 in raffle tickets last year (all he had) and won a set of Hadley Hubs! I still give him the stink eye! Tedroy, Thanks for the input and hope to meet you there, just look for the fat guy in the little bike shirt! That is a nice shot of El P! Just did it yesterday. It never gets old! |

DavidB is correct! The route shown is how to get to the Pancake breakfast grounds after the ride. The Brown/El P ride goes into the mountains from that parking lot shown. If you have never tried El P and consider yourself an average singletrack rider, you will fall in love with this trail!
Thanks! |

Is it a trailbike trail or is a hardtail SS ok?
For comparison, I consider Chantry is little to rocky for SS HT.

Mr. DB is right again! Come out with your trailbike to get the best experience and then make the decision what to bring next time. The terrain is similar to Chantry/Winter Creek, just more fun! No getting off the bike for water crossings.
