I am taking a survey, to show to the marketing deparents of the local mountians in southern California, this is an attempt to sway the powers that be into buildinga bike park. This survey will help to deteime if a market exist to justify such a large undertaking.
Do you want a bike park in so cal? Is price a concern? How far are you willing to drive to ride a sick bike park? |

We all drive up to Snow Summit a few weekends every summer and pay $20 to not ride big bikes. I think paying double to ride whatever bike we want would be easy.

Yes. Yes I would. If it was closer to the $20 I pay at Snow Summit I'd do it a lot.

I would... last summer I did a few one day trips to Mammoth. Anything to get out of this concrete jungle.

ha. if they opened a bike park in big bear, or the area surrounding, i would be all over it. I've got a cabin up there, and it makes me kinda sad that there isn't any cool DH stuff up there anymore
![]() Then again, if there was something closer than mammoth and it was a reasonable price i would probably go a few times a year |

Is price a concern? No, but the amount of trips made there would be more if the price were less (like lift tickets for skiing/boarding) How far are you willing to drive to ride a sick bike park? The closer the better, but I've driven to Whistler 3 separate years!!!

50 miles is a drop in the bucket since you have to drive anyhow to do anything in CA. However, $40 is a bit steep unless it includes the cost of riding a bike you would like to try out. Maybe $15 to $20 if it's your own bike.

ONLY 50 miles? are you kidding? Of course I would!!
$40 isn't bad--a season pass would be ideal and we'd go up more often if something like that were available ![]() If you build it, we will come!

All depends on the riding...yes I pay for Mammoth...great riding. Would I pay for Baldy...maybe not. Big Bear yes once or twice a year. Wrightwood not enough legal singletrack.
To many trails I have not been on to repeat the same rides in a bike park. Dean

Yes, I would be all over this. The number of trips I would take would be proportional to the quality of the experience. I wouldn't expect Whistler, but having enough variety of terrain and places to eat/drink would help. Provided I could get a bunch of runs in and get my grub on before heading back to SD I could see doing this a few times (4 to 5) each summer with a couple buddies each time.

driving 50 miles and spending $40 sounds too much like golf (count me as a "no")...

The drive is no hindrance, but the park would need to have a lot of vertical drop, variety of trails and well-built features to command that price.

I think that it would also depend onthe trails. Would we pay $40 for lift assisted fire road riding? Possibly not.
For Mammoth type trails? Yes. |
