Default CHUMBA No-Show at Adrenaline Demo Day

To all my fellow STR members:

I just wanted to take this time to personally apologize to everyone who wanted to test ride a CHUMBA at the Adrenaline demo day.

In hindsight, I should have definitely planned it out better - and I would like to make it up to everyone who was disappointed. Just e-mail me at alan@chumbaracing.com. or call 1-800-706-0760, and I'll organize a group ride with a CHUMBA demo bike of your choice.

We have a whole bunch of XCLs and EVOs, but a little low on the F5s - so give me some time to work on the F5s for demos.

Cheers!

Hey Bret,

Thanks for understanding, we'll do our best to make many more opportunities available for demo - I know you demo'ed a XCL last time and seemed to like it. Hopefully it will be sooner than later that we will have more events. And, if you don't mind waiting for an office junkie on the climb - hit me up for some riding.

I did, but it doesn't phase me, I've known Bret for years, he knows I won't give up until he gets on a CHUMBA. Same with George. Same with the whole world. I love these bikes. I came pretty close to convincing George to get an EVO a few months back, ha.

You bring out your Kona or Santa Cruz to Turnbull or any local trail we know, and I'll bring out a XCL, we'll do back-to-back comparisons; we can do it just for fun. Just let me know when. It will be easy to detect your sincerity in-person on performance. ; )

Haha, sorry, the only one I have now is going to be going to Decline next week. Then we will start building our demos, but soon enough!

I saw this ad in OC Craigslist for a rare Chumba Evo. Someone might be interested.

CHUMBA EVO L Brand New Interbike Show Bike as seen on website - $5500
Brand New never ridden Chumba Evo. This is the actual Chumba Racing Evo that was on display at this years Interbike Show. It can be seen in full detail on the Chumba Website: http://www.chumbaracing.com/evo.shtml This bike was built at my dealer cost of over $7000.00 We built it to be the best looking/performing FreeRide bike ever. It has been in Mountain Bike Action magazine, the website, the catalogue and numerous other mailings. Its time to sell it as it has served its marketing purpose for us. Call me for complete build. I'll sum up the general items here: Fox 36 Talas, Fox DHX 5.0 Air, Full SRAM X9, XT Front, Gravity Carbon Bars, Industry Nine Hubs/Spokes, Hope Moto M4 4 piston caliper discs with Custom made for Chumba slicer rotors, braided stainless brake lines plastic coated, DT Swiss EX 5.1D, Maxxis Ignitor 26x2.35 Cranks are now Race Face Atlas polished and polished triple ring, Chris King double Headsets Mango/Silver, Thompson polished seatpost, Thompson Polished Stem, Frame is the glossy red custom powder coat seem on website. This bike has the one and only Chumba Racing Logo Seat.
You will never see another bike built like this and everyone will be asking you where you got it. Chumba will never build another one like it; to keep it unique. All pictures of actual bike are on Chumba website above. Never touched or ridden

Ask for Mike 714.448.1153

Yes, I know that bike - a very expensive and custom bike indeed - the chassis was built all in-house in Anaheim. It is the one on the website w/ the red industry nine spokes i believe, but we sold it through a dealer (Adrenaline), so it would not be from the factory - meaning no original owner warranty.

I think the XCL is probably a little more well-suited for So Cal. The EVO can be - but people are starting to ride it more as a resort/park bike - whereas the XCL can accomodate a 6 inch fork and still do well as a longer travel XC bike.

That is really disappointing you weren't able to show up, it really seems to put a bad lite on chumba in my mind and if i were buying a bike today I would have serious reservations about buying a bike from a company that can not figure out how to schedule a trailer and a couple hours to do some bike demos.
