Default RR: Sunday Fully Loop

Writing this RR because Pugz and Dino were MIA.

Today was Kotanks son (Jacob 9) first mountain biking ride. My mom tells me he was having fun and asking for downhills, he likes speed. I heard you did real good Jacob.

The sunday Fully Loop rides are always fun and the group is always real nice and fun. Today everyone was specially nice. Thank you everyone for coming back to the park to make sure everything was good. Special thanks to Lee for helping me out. Thank you Lee for driving my mom and me back to the parking lot.

Today I had my 1st crash (it wasn't bad) ended up with a sprained wrist and cuts and scratches. The doctor said I could start riding tomorrow.

I was riding downhill and someone was riding uphill. I realized I had to stop because the person wasn't going to move and he was wobling and stuff. He crossed my front tire and clipped my handlebars - I flew over. Once I stopped sliding on the ground...I heard someone tell me to stay put. He went and found my group and Lee got to me quickly.

PainFreak and Gene my helmet protected my head real well. It has a big scratch on the top but it's still good.

Fred - See you next weekend at San Clemente singletracks.

Dino - No! bones were not sticking out.

Lee - Thanks for being calm and telling my mom it wasn't bad.

Thanks Fully Loop riders see you on Sunday.

PS. I learned the importance of protecting the eyes.

For the record, Julia was a total trooper, and the guy the hit her was a total tool.

Wow, I am so glad to hear one of our special younger members is alright.

Kiss that helmet for me.

Kudo's to you Julia. I bet you had Mom worried.

Ditto to that - glad to see Julia can fall as well as she rides! I saw her catch some sweet air off a jump - just before that first short steep climb, after crossing the first street with the crossing lights. Sorry for the vague location description but her air was noteworthy. Future downhill champ in the making. Hope all is well with the family Dino and we missed ya Pugzie!!

Julia,
You found out a couple things about this sport today, falling happens and you never know what the other guy is going to do. I am sure your mom will get over this one, and the next one, and the next one.
Heal fast (you're young).

PS Nice RR

My mom so glad she didn't hear the man say "we are even" and me and the man shaked hands. When I told her this she wasn't very happy. It's alright I think she's over it (I hope).

Hope my mom doesn't run into this man at the loop. She remembers him picture perfect don't want to get kicked out of the Loop.

Julia, glad to hear you were allright. I'm glad I didn't see the other guy or I might have had some choice words. You seemed to be taking the crash calmly and well, good for you. Always make sure you learn something new from a crash and they won't be a bad thing.

Kudos to Lee and his Urban Offroading machine.

See Pugz, this is what happens when you miss your own ride. Pure chaos.

Julia, I've been waiting for your post ever since I saw you off. I didn't know you collided with someone until we were in the truck. I wish I knew which one of those guys you collided with, but that's just one of those things that happens. I'm really glad to hear that it wasn't worse, but I'm still glad you got it checked out as soon as possible.

When I hiked up the hill through the bushes to Julia (CX style), I was very worried. She was about 10 feet down the side of the fairly steep hillside. She'd have gone further, but a downed tree branch had stopped her from tumbling. The other guys were already at her trying to help. And as others had mentioned, she was very calm and collected (but not in shock), so I had hoped for the best. What worried me the most, other than the pain in the wrist area (that of which I have a lot of experience with!), there was already some minor bruising on the bottom side of the wrist.

Anyhow, I'm glad to hear the good news!

Katonk (Jacob) is awesome!

I was so impressed with him he didn't take any easy options. He was a real trooper and he's just a great kid.

Thanks everyone -- Julia is sore and she's a bit beat up. It doesn't bother her at all only bothers me. Jules is a bit quiet must be all the Motrin and she's having a hard time with one hand.

Jules warned me this is one of many crashes and thank goodness we were not riding alone.

Lee - I didn't know what really happened until the doctor asked her.

Thank you everyone for your concern and of course I freaked and will continue to freak I am her mom (it's like she has to small holes on her arm) black eye etc.

I think I'll just start drinking before every ride and Fontana.

-Elvia

I thought my weekend couldn't get any worse. Ill family member. Had to work Saturday and Sunday. Missed the Cheseboro ride.... Missed the Fully ride. Etc. Etc. Etc.

And then it happened. While enjoying the one second of silence I had this entire weekend, the phone rang. It was ELVIA. She informed me Julia had crashed. Surprisingly, she was quite calm for a mom with an injured child! Elvia was in need of a phone number. She also informed me Julia really toughed it out!

Thanks to Lee and the rest of the STR FAMILY Members for helping

Julia- Even though the doctor cleared you to ride the bike- How 'bout taking at least one day off!

The FORCE IS STRONG IN THIS ONE....

Downhill Champion I see

4X Champ *ALSO* we may see...

Get well soon!

P.S.- Sooo bummed I missed Little Katonk's First Ride!
