jesse, the heckler and the dawg would perform pretty similar and i think would be great for you. as you know, i had a heckler, and now have a dawg. my heckler was kinda blinged out, came in at 32.5 (dhx coil rear and marz am1 fork) pounds, my dawg is also semi blinged out, comes in at 31.5 (air fork and air shock on the dawg).

its just going to come down to whatever feels best. check the path for your kona needs, and switchback for you santa cruz needs!

Nope, she owns the shop with Tim, I am just a friend that works here.

Keep in mind that the Heckler has been bumped up to six inches of travel, versus the Dawg's five. Surprisingly, the '08 Dawg has a slightly slacker head angle (68.2 degrees) than the Heckler (69 degrees). Both very nice bikes. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Sherry aka Cowgirl is Tim's wife, but anyway, can't say I've ridden either one, good luck with the choice.

I bought my Blur LT from Don's Bike Shop in Rialto and they were fantastic. I lived in Pasadena at the time, so it was a bit of a drive, but I thought it was worth it. They actually worked with the Santa Cruz rep to get me a demo bike to ride for a few days before I decided to buy. They also kept their shop open late a couple times when I showed up right before closing. Good group of guys.

If you live here in OC though, Switchback seems to be a good shop for Santa Cruz stuff. I bought a commuter bike (Trek) from Switchback and they have been good to me as well .
