Bunch of the Freeride guys are sponsored by Red Bull: Kyle Strait, Robbie Bourdon, who knows how many more.

I think that's the whole point...NOT to have another team assoc. with Red Bull athletes...they are billed as the maverics of their sports!

For example, Rennie sports a RB helmet and rides a Santa Cruz but Rachel Atherton, who also wears one, rides a Giant.

So I think the answer to that question is no.

Red Bull and many energy drinks contain Taurine. FYI here is what Taurine is:

Taurine, or 2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, is an organic acid. It is also a major constituent of bile and can be found in lower amounts in the tissues of many animals including humans.

Mmmmm, bile.... Never knew that bile could taste so yummy!

I think all energy drinks are best avoided, unless of course they are paying you huge dollars to ride a bike.

the closest I come to energy drinks any more is caffeinated soda and iced coffee.

I had been on an energy drink kick for a while back (a couple a day), and besides the hit to the wallet, it did a number on my digestion.

ugh.

Not to say that I wouldn't take a swig (labels out!) if they were funding my hobbies.
