I can't seem to offer any advise without setting myself up for someone's signature material. Here goes anyway: If you're new, you need some miles to get used to it. This assumes your seat height, angle and fore/aft are set properly.
Otherwise WTB Rocket V works for me.

I recently switched to a Bel Air RL seat and love it. It has a slight upward slope to the rear of the seat that seems to cup my butt well. Im diggin it so far. Good luck, most seats actually suck you just have to get used to them.

Laser V. Also you may just need to readjust the seat.

![]() But in all seriousness, I started w/ a WTB Speed V and then found it too soft after a few month. So I moved up to a WTB Rocket V Team for my MTB and firmer Rocket SLT for my roadie. |

I used a Laser for awhile. Have found that going with the Specialized Phenom I'm actually pretty comfortable.

My uncle has these huge azonic seats on all his bikes. They probably weigh 5 pounds but he never complains about a sore bum after a ride.

agreed. perhaps wait a bit till you determine its the saddle as any saddle may feel the same at this point.
for trailbike-ish type saddle, i like the laser v stealth/pure v stealth otherwise i am becoming quite fond of Selle Italia saddles and have both a SLR XP and SLR XC and they are great (for me anyway) |

I'm not sure there is a seat that is 100% comfortable but I agree with those above who mentioned the WTB saddles (which come in a variety of models).
I originally had the Rocket V ProGel version which I really liked as it added a little extra cushioning to those sensitive areas that need it. When it eventually wore out, I upgraded to a Rocket V SLT Race saddle which I got for around $65.00 on ebay. Took a few rides to bed in but now I really love it ![]() However, the Rocket series is only 130mm wide so is on the narrow side. I personally like this as it enables me to shift back off the saddle without any leg chaffing (or snagging my shorts on the nose!) but it won't suit everybody out there. I'm not a weight weenie but with titanium rails, it only adds 210 grams of non-rolling weight to your rig ![]() You might want to stop by Rock n' Road for a proper fitting. Bare in mind that any new saddle will take a few rides to "mould" to the shape of your sit bones ![]()

I just got a new WTB Silverado SLT and it is by far the best saddle that I
have ever had. It fits me perfectly and was comfortable from the git....so I am sure once it is a little bit more broken in, it will be even better.

I went through about 4-5 saddles before I found one I liked: WTB Speed V. But everyone is different.
I'll second the advice to go to a shop where they can size you properly. Or go to a shop that has some demo saddles available, like Switchback does. Or try every bike you can bum a ride on. The upcoming demo day at Irvine park/Santiago Oaks could be good for this. I'm not sure there is such thing as a comfortable seat or one that won't leave you a little sore, especially after a long ride. But regular riding will get you and your saddle used to each other. And note that soreness and numbness are two very different things. Prolonged numbness is a big warning sign.

i've got a wtb shadow v.
If you're shopping, try and find a shop that'll allow you to buy, try, and then return a saddle if necessary. They're all personal preference, and the more you ride, the less you'll notice how much it hurts. The muscle around your sit bones tends to firm up with increased saddle time, reducing the painful feelings. |

I like the saddle that comes stock on the spec enduros as they are nice and flat. every one seems to love thost wtb's, but they make my junk go numb. the shop i work at has demo wtb saddles, so you might want to find a shop that has them. good luck to you and your butt.

I've been thinking about the Sette XRC? WTB Laser, or a FSA. I'm currently using a WTB V on the Horse which starts hurting after 2 hours and a cheesy Forte one on my SS which believe it or not feels a bit better but is heavy.
