When you are in the shop, hold the saddle to your butt, you need to make sure that it lines up with your ass bones. I recomend you find these before you go as too much groping with your ass in the store might get you some funny looks, or even a date if there are some roadies in there. You want something that matches you, & not to much padding. Padding feels good at first but will cause chaffing later, which can again result in unwanted displays of public groin grabbing!
You could also take a tape measure & measure the distance of your bones, mark it on a piece of paper to compare to the saddles in the store.

Tom Brady Look A Like

Very hard to go wrong with a mid level WTB. However I am becoming quite fond of my Brooks. I've said it once and I'll say it again...it's like a crotch hammock.

How many miles left?!

I second the WTBs also. I've used the Rocket and Laser and both were pretty comfy and fairly inexpensive.
I also have a Brooks B17 on my rigid SS and it gets better with each ride. Break in period took a few rides and honestly was a bit painful, but applying Proofhide and baseball glove oil really helped soften it up. Yes it weighs a lot but the weight penalty is overshadowed the comfort and looks. |
