Default Deal of the CENTURY!

Ok, well maybe, maybe not, but I did get a really sweet deal. So I was looking into spending money so I went down to the LBS to see what I could buy. I was asking about a few things and the owner went to show me something on one of their test bikes. I asked him if he would sell me the test bike. He said he couldn't until may or something so I said, "NUTS!!" Well, so he went on his computer looking at other demo bikes in the specialized catalog or something, I really don't know what it was, but he happened to find an 07 epic marathon carbon for only $2900 (they retail for $4900). So I was thinking you know I might as well get a new bike and I will take a demo bike. I don't need a brand new bike with no scratches if I can get one with scratches for 2 grand off.

Long story short, the bike finally got into the shop today (about 5 minutes after I left so I turned around to go get it) and this thing was in perfect condition. Ok, so there was a little scratch on the seat post, but I plan on getting a CF seatpost sometime soon anyways. Seriously, I got a brand new bike for $2000 off. Not even the chainrings were worn down any. The chain was not gunked up at all. No dirt or grime in the cassette....NOTHING. Not even any signs of use on the fork or rear shock.

Yeah, I got it from Dons Bike Shop. They are really close with all the specialized people ad Adrian and Scott really know their stuff when it comes to the road bikes. I didn't know this until the other day, but Scott signed Dave Zabriskie to his first pro team (which was the 7-up team) until Discovery stole him away for more money.

Sweet! I've always liked the sleek look of the Epics. Just out of curiosity, what size is that 'scratched' seatpost, and are you planning on selling it?? inquiring minds want to know

I think all specialized seat posts are 31.8 but im not sure. I am not planning on switching it out for a while. I think new pedals need to come first, but before that I still need a new helmet and helmet cam!
