LOL dam you Dave so much for the element of surprise.

It's true i couldnt resist the temptation to try this 29'er thing. I went out and got another Zion frame for 179 transferring all my stuff over that i can to the new frame and selling the 26'er Zion frame (if anyone's interested) and selling my xt wheelset as well.

I scored on a Reba fork at the Path 15% off was too much to resist 350 and change before tax on that forker

Not much to show you in terms of pics because i'm wheeless right now.

Duan,

Ha! Did you all of a sudden wake up this morning and say "I'm getting a 29er today." Geez, last night you were just telling me and here's the quote " i'll have to keep an eye out for deals quietly collect wheelset and fork for the impending day." I didn't think it was going to be this soon. Hope it's ready for the big reveal at the SS Lovefest.

Oh and how'd you explain this to the wife???

29er? You better be picking up some 22T+ cogs! Those hoops aren't light.

Man when i was talking to you i was already planning and if you know me the minute i start talking about something that pretty much means my minds made up LOL

Funny you should say that because my wife got sick of me whining about "i should have built a 29'er" this or that and said get it already so i dont have to hear it anymore seriously she wanted me to get what i really wanted. The deal was I would have to sell the new/old frame wheelset to offset the spending Love the woman

I picked up a 20T (from Uncle Rico today) and I have my 21T Niner cog so I SHOULD be ok...but based on what you said today with your maiden ride on your SS along Chiquito Ridge my gearing should be ok.

Once you roll on the big hoops there is no going back.

DeeZee says......the Ellsworth will be sold for a 29'er FS.

I say it happens before the end of Summer

Talking Ahhhh, yes, grasshopper Foo....

Welcome to the dark side young Foo.... there are plenty of us over here. I think you'll enjoy the 29er SS... they seem perfect for it. I love mine! But I wouldn't be too worried yet about trading the Ellsworth in for a FS 29er. I still love my Blur and 5.5, tiny wheels and all..... looking forward to seeing the new ride.
