Pedal rotations per mile = 391.19

Looks right.
32x18 = 51.56 (29")
32x16 = 52.00 (26")
With 29" wheels, you're running 2:1 ratio.
The equivalent of 32x16 on a 26" er.
So you actually drop TWO teeth on the rear going from 26" to 29".

Duan, you might want to pick up that 22T cog after all!

no not catching up...i've been intrigued by it and all the recent posting about it and new builds (Nam) peeked my interest to where my wife told me to shut up and get it
Nam's rig was just about perfect for the 12 hour race last weekend, I wonder how quick it would be on a XC race course?
I still think you and Alan should have a 29er Showdown though!

He picked up a Redline from us last summer and now he is feeling the need for some big wheels so I have been helping him out on "upgrading" some parts on it!

And so I finished building the 29'er tonight!

Thank you Neil (1x1clyde) and 26'er zen master (Dave) for getting my cane creek headset w/ the extra 5mm bearing cup. And Dave for almost breaking your finger setting the crown race.

The Reba still hits on the adjustment knob on the right side of the crown but clears the other. WTF really is up w/ Rock Shox for a lame design.

Anyway the build was pretty straightforward and I cant wait to ride this sucka!

Nicely done Foo. King HS with +7mm race might have cleared eh? Maybe you can just remove the Compression/lockout knob or perhaps take the dremel to it till it clears?

I like the retro brownie saddle.

Oh, I'd double check that chain. It may not drop now, but after a few rides and it stretches you're gonna drop that thing spinning high rpms on the flats.

thanks Dale and Carl. I'll rotate the EBB to take up a bit more of the slack and give it more tension

as for the knob i'll figure something out...i just hate to take a dremel to a nicely anodized knob...it would be cool to have one machined in a lower profile so it'll clear.

Now that's a beautiful ride. Look forward to seeing it in action at the SS LoveFest.

Hope you get the Reba issues ironed out by then!

Looks good Duan!
If that Reba is still causing problems there is always a rigid fork.....plenty of clearance for your frame and lighter too
