So, I have one, and its my main ride. The 07 model doesn't have the new G2 geometry, and I'm in no position to compare the two.

As far as the frame is concerned, so far so good (fingers crossed/knockin' on wood). I bought the bike used from a good friend, but the frame had just been replaced (it was an '06). They say that the '07 took care of some of the frame cracking issues the '06 had, but who knows. I've previously owned a Fisher, cracked it (twice), and swore I'd never own another one. I don't ride real heavy either. However, the ride on it got me thinkin'. My good friend, to seal the deal, promised to take the bike in if I had issues. To their credit, Fisher (Trek) has always been real good with their lifetime warranty.

I really like the fit, I'm 6'3" and ride an XL. I have long monkey arms and the longer Fisher top tube really does it for me. The frame is nice and light, which is a good thing, I think... A little flexy in the rear.

If you have a way of working the warranty, I say go for it.

huh? I am FAR from the only rider with an opinion that the 29er Reba is very flexy and lame......the Fox is not the stiffest fork in the world but compared to the Gheyba 29er, puhleeze, you have no clue sir.
Stop smoking the Kool-Aid. First you tell me that I buy into the marketing hype (but never posted anything) and then you BLOW your $$$ on on ugly White over hyped Farce ahhhh... Fox fork

Qr vs 20mm = Noticeable fork flex
Qr brand vs Qr brand = No noticable difference.
I don't think either of us are LA USD products, but I'm not speaking to Fo's mental prowess either.

I wasn't saying QR vs QR, but that RWS is like a 9mm or 10mm thru axle, it looks like it would be stiffer, I had to drill out my hub end caps (well the path did). Either way, haven't ridden it, so I don't know if it's hype or not.

thought you didn't know flex?

Yes, Fizzle...fork flex is only noticeable in holding a line at speed, or slow gnar tech. Some things are marketing hype and some are noticeable.

Yes you will notice a differnce in a QR and 9mm through bolt. I only run 9mm through bolts on my QR or "Standard" forks.

I hope you own a Fox.........chicks dig'em

dude, LAUSD? whatever, I am too busy to respond in full as I am cramming for my GED so one day I can make enough money to not be eligible for a government $600 check hand-me-down that wont make of bit of a mofing difference for anyone or anything. though it would buy me a new brakeset

I'm going to check out these at Jaxx in Irvine. They have some amazing deals right now. I'll get back to you after the weekend to tell you what I find out. Hang in there.

Aaron, just my opinion, but you're a big dude who has been known to break a chainstay or two. Check to see if Fisher's warranty transfers to another owner, or yuou could be SOL.

Well on the website it says original owner....

I will ask the seller if he registered it, or has frame receipt...

I had a 293 and Rig. They have long TT and slacked HA. Stable ride but steering is a tad slow for my taste

Fisher makes a really nice bike. The '07 frames were the same as the '05 & '06. If you can get one at a really great price.....go for it.

Only 2 things to keep an eye out for:

1. They did have a history of the frames cracking at the seattube top tube.....seems like this was more an issue with the larger frames.

2. Rear tire clearance was kind of tight. Remember, up til this last year or so, 2.1 & 2.2 tires were the largest available, so the new 2.3-2.55 tires may not fit.

If you are buying new from a shop, go for it.....worst case scenario, you crack the frame and they warranty it with the new improved '08 frame.
