Default Happy Monday - Tire Murder Mystery

With the rains coming I brought my Monocog 29 to work hoping to get a quick lunch ride in. When I left home my tires were aired up and good to go. When I got to work my front tire was flat and it had a large gash in the sidewall. Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed. So, to try and make something fun out of this...

WHO KILLED MY TIRE?

Dun dun dunnnn....

See pictures below:

Clue 1 - My car and rack.

Clue 2 - The fatal wound on the tire.

Other pertinent details: I drove straight from home to work. No one hit me. On the freeway most of the way. Heard what sounded like something hitting my car on the 133 but I'm 100% positive nothing hit my car.

It took me a couple minutes to put the pieces together but I know who the culprit is.

So, detectives: Who killed my tire?

Discuss amongst yourselves and PM me if you think you know the answer.

Edit: Oh, I'll reveal it this afternoon at 3PM.

Did you ever see the movie based on the game Clue? I recommend it. Very funny.

Another example of why 29ers are just plain wrong. A 26" wheel wouldn't have hanged down low enough to get fried by the exhaust.

Winners! That was quick. Someone go kill some more tires and take pictures.

Indeed, it was the tailpipe. I guess you guys never read the instructions before taking tests (neither did I).

I was driving in on the 133 and I heard this loud noise that sounded like I hit something and it scraped across my car. Got to work and realized at work that it must have melted though, popped, and quickly leaked out to make that noise.

So I'm in Aliso. Where can I get a decent and affordable 29er tire fast? I would love to be able to pick up a tube and tire before lunch and still get a ride in. Unfortunately, it's either that or drive up to the Path for lunch, but I'd really love to get a ride in.

Or maybe the vandals that spray painted the license pate.

That's exactly why I didn't think to hang my bike the opposite way. This has never happened to me with my 26ers.

Must have been from the pure, unbridled horsepower of the Honda powerplant! All that power needs to breath.

TK and the Sniffer beat you out by a minute but since you followed the rules you win a lightly used Bontrager 29er tire. May need a patch. Or 20.

Not yet. It's starting to look overcast, though. I was hoping to get a ride in before the rains came in.

I know. That's where I got these tires. But I can't get up there and back in time for a ride even with a long lunch break. I guess I may just be heading up there for lunch. Wah.
