These are clean machines. Got to be #1.

A close second for http://www.canfieldbrothers.com/Canf...nhillBikes.htm

There could be cases for Ventana , Titus on craftmanship.

Or Yeti , Maverick and Specialized on suspension design.

Depends on what you're looking for....

In my opinion...

xc racing = Giant and Specialized. For the suspension design and the NRS line.

trail riding = Turner and Ellsworth (correct me if I'm wrong ... I don't do much 'trail riding.'

Freeride and Downhill, I don't really know about.

Whichever one fits me best that feels good and gives me that feeling of being one with the bike. If I feel wonderful like I am flying and I forget about the bike, then it's a good bike.

Currently I am riding a Cove G-Spot and a .243 HT. Both are wonderful frames. Very well made, and handles like a dream.

Default Turners?

I have a 5-spot and really like it. However, the SC Nomad is looking better now that I have seen pictures of it in anodized black. A 31 lb. bike w/6.5 inches of travel that pedals great. My wife will not be happy!
( I used to have a blur)
