I think you're talking about Montana De Oro. My heart sank a little when I saw that. It's one of the places my wife and I "get away from it all".

I was. There's so many people that use that park I just can't see anyone letting that park close without a fight.

sdyeti - Are you a teacher, cuz your rant about raising test scores and lower budgets sounds a lot like my wife spews?

I'm surprised to see a couple of those beaches on there, particuarly Natural Bridges and Seacliff, since I've never seen a lifeguard on either of them in all the years I've been to them!

what...u need resources to increase test scores....why on earth would we need something so logical?!

btw...with a 10% cut...can I send 10% of my students home? The kid I have to cut in half won't like that (I'd lose 1.7 students)

Okay, Kevin, that was good. LMAO!

If I lost 10% of my students it would be 3 in every class (though that's pretty much equivalent to how many are absent from each period anyway)!

I ride frequently in Cuyamaca State park. It isn't on the closure list, but if it were closed it's hard for me to picture how they would enforce access restrictions? You can park a number of places outside the park and ride in and then they'd have to have someone staffed to patrol trails.

This thread is rapidly becoming a ...

Not to diminish the severity of the fiscal problem or the importance to all of us, but I really believe what the governator is doing right now is about 80% posturing. He says "We need cuts," knowing full well that everyone from land access advocates to the prison guards' union will rail against these cuts. Then when they have to propose tax hikes, he gets to say "I tried to be fiscally responsible, but those rascally special interests groups fouled it up again."

Here is what Arnold needs to do tax ciggerettes more, and double doubles from In N out. Also tax all the gaming casinos as well the poker rooms more. Those people are making tons of dough

Better than Colorado too.

The front range of Colorado is overcrowded with too few roads and too much private property. Of course the riding season is a bit shorter too.

Hate my commute (50miles each way), scared of this goverment, worried how much it's gonna cost to send my kid to college, pay taxes, listen to the whining etc.

Shoulda moved when I had the chance me thinks.

Would love to be in Oregon (Bend area), Durango or CO in general or even (cannot believe I am saying this) back in South Jersey some days!

The budget problems all stem from the US Governments non-stop support of and free-ride-giving to Illegal Immigrants.

According to the Center for Immigration Studies in Washington, DC, an astounding 30 percent of prisoners constitute illegal aliens at a cost of $1.6 billion annually(Nationally).

Illegal residents in Los Angeles County collected more than $37 million in welfare and food stamps in November - up $3 million since September - for an estimated annual cost of $444 million dollars, reports the Daily News citing statistics from the LA County Department of Public Social Services(this does not include education or health care costs which would bring the total to over $1 billion annually).

You know, I believe me and many others out there have the same opinion, I am tired of footing the bill for illegals. I am also tired of the Liberal machine that tries to tell everyone that they are just here to work and make a better life, how about they are here for a free ride, here's an idea for our brilliant politicians, STOP GIVING NON-CITIZENS THE RIGHTS THAT THEY HAVEN'T EARNED. No free housing, no free food, no free education, no free health care, F@#k that, you want rights earn them, or take your a$$ back to wherever you came from. On another note, how about we(America) stop doing business of any kind with our corrupt neighbors to the south. Their police, military, government and most businesses are all corrupt and do nothing for the good of their people. If my opinion and the earlier stated facts make you angry, good, maybe you will take the time to look into these matters deeper instead of eating all the BS that the media is feeding you. hey: no fair cut-and-pasting from the bible...

seriously, you can find numbers to support both sides. it's a complicated issue that neither major party really has a plan to improve. every time the economy takes a dip, minorities get blamed. our immigration policies in the past, including reagan's amnesty, have only encouraged people to come here undocumented. to now make them all out to be criminals (they actually commit crimes at a lower rate than the general populaton) shows a complete lack of compassion and is equivalent to economic slavery. as the richest country in the universe and one based on judeo-christian principles, we should be able to figure this one out without acting like goons.

btw- save trestles.

Wow that was to the point.

But back to the State Park thiny, I saw San Jacinto on that list and as a backpacker that would suck. I wnder if they'd try to stop everyone from using it or shut down the tram? That's one of my spring and fall getaways.
