Tom,

One more thing. The shock on the SL is that the DT Swiss XR Carbon or is it a special model for the Mojo? Any details on it? DT Swiss doesn't have much details in terms of features of the shock. Looks like it has rebound and lockout. You offer a DHX Air 5.0 for the frame, but not in a small frame. Is there any other shock you would recommend for the SL?

George, can we get a ban on Steven Jackson. He seems to never have anything relevant to say and quite frankly, he's making this board a joke every time he posts.

to the OP, the Ibis is a sweet looking bike, and I plan to demo one soon. Surely a great aggressive XC bike. Keep us posted if you do take the plunge.

The KK statue is a fallacy. It upset all true Hawaiian watermen. The reason , no waterman would turn their back to the ocean.

Pato- I am soooooooo freakin' pissed right now! I wrote the MANIFESTO you were waiting for... and it disappeared! STR must have LOGGED me off!

Ibis- Dirt tested one during my (1+) year bike search! If you want a light weight and efficient XC bike (that will not be beaten)- would be my choice! Best compromise of handling, plushness and stiffness.

Iron Horse- The '07/'08 frames are much improved (and lighter than the '06). If you were able to locate a frame, there is NO REASON you couldn't build a 24.9 pound MKIII. My choice for XC/AM machine. Simply bombproof! Felt the most "plush" of the three.

PIVOT- Much thought went into the design of that frame. Check out the seat tube. Looks kinda' like a SUNDAY- doesn't it! Wonder why? May have to do with "unlocking" the full potential of the dw-link! While it is the only frame I had not tested, Chris Cocalis himself (formerly at Titus now at Pivot) made it quite clear racers would love this frame! Translation: Super efficient.... may be stiffer initially....

DW-LINK- http://dw-link.com/reasons.html
Ibis Tech- http://www.ibiscycles.com/tech/
Pivot Tech- http://www.pivotcycles.com/tech.php

Hope that helps! Sorry for over-simplifying! Can't bear to re-write the MANIFESTO that disappeared before my eyes!

Good Luck Homie!

Don't do it George. I think his posts are mostly quite comical and keep me entertained.

Will do. I'll post an update if and when I get it. It may be a while before I'll be strong enough to give it a proper demo though.

I know nothing about Duke, the statue or surfing. I just happen to notice the avatar and remembered that one of my coworkers is related to him somehow. The only reason I know about Duke and the picture is because one of my friends is a surfer and has his picture in her apt.

Dino,
Thanks for the info. I'm up in the air with the Pivot and the Ibis. The weight of the Ibis is very appealing, but I've heard that it's a plush ride. I'm looking for something more of a firmer XC feel. Another bonus is that you don't see many of them out on the trail.

The Pivot sounds like it may offer the firmer ride I'm looking for of the three frames. Weight is important to me on this build so I'll have to know about this first. Any idea when The Path will start carrying Pivot bikes?

24.9lbs MKIII? Unfortunately, that may not be possible. I refuse to give up my Gravity Dropper seat post. It's going to end up closer to 26lbs. Not enough of a difference from my FXR to justify another bike. It will be $1000 less than the Ibis though. I'm not discounting it yet. Most plush of the three?

Thanks everyone for your input. Even you SJ.

Pato- My suggestion: Call The Path. As soon as someone builds one (i.e. the shop or a customer)- ask if you could parking lot test it! Ya' think The Path will build a Pivot "Demo" bike?

Welcome to the DW-LINK family! You can not go wrong with any of the three choices!

I completely expect the IH jokes to continue. Will be even "funnier" listening to a DWLINK owner busts my chops for riding an Iron Horse.

I figure I should level the playing field. Get myself a DW-Link bike so you'll have a better chance of keeping up on your IH.
