Default It can rain now

Got in my two days of weekend riding. The rainfall in Laguna has been pathetic .12 inches, .003 Irvine...we need rain.

For local rainfall totals. Link

Luckily we got in a ride on Thursday before all the rain. And rain we got! Almost 7 inches in 2 days. We needed it though. The hills are already turning green and are looking beautiful. I'll be in the gym this week, as Bruce still isn't comfortable with me riding alone. I guess the phone call he got last time I rode alone, "umm, Bruce I think I did something really bad, meet me at the emergency room" is still fresh in his mind...

That's just for the last 24 hours. Laguna received 1.5" Fri night and prior to that was 105% of average for the year per Department of water resources. The storm isn't over and were almost twice the amount of rainfall we had all last year. The sky isn't falling just yet.

Watch out what you wish for- there's a little cell dumping on Silverado/Modjeska right now...

BTW: I had a sweet ride in Laguna Coast Fri. p.m., beating the rain by about 15 minutes.

Default Some Rainfall totals thus far...

Per this report, in Altadena & Sierra Madre, we've received over 6" of rain as of 11:30am Sunday morning. Were ever Opids Camp is, they gotten over 11 inches of rainfall.
It started raining last night in Sierra Madre and it poured all night long and hard. A little break this morning and then rain continued.

Yesterday West Fork San Gabriel River...paved.

Today almost all pavement. From my house (North Laguna), down PCH to Crown Valley, up and over Pacific Island to Lower Aliso Summit Trailhead, mostly a gravel road to the top. Then over to Bad Lands Park/Sea View Park dropping down the steeps at the gazebo, then out and back to Aliso Peak (great view) before short hike-a-bike to Alta Loma Drive in South Laguna...that is my local loop when all the parks are closed. Bike-a-bike because of constuction, new lot has re-routed the old trail.

Note stay off Valido Trail it is closed to bikes.

I got my two days too. Road yesterday, dirt today.
I wish I had logged on earlier this morning Kid. I would have taken you and Chris with me.
(For the record, this offroad trail sheds water like a duck and is better in the rain. I kept looking behind me, not a trace of my passing.)

Drove up to Mammoth this morning at 4:00 a.m. and sat in Bishop for several hours until the road opened at about 11. I had to posthole it thigh deep down the driveway to get to the house. And that was the snow that had fallen since the plow came yesterday morning.

But the mountain was insane.... High temp today at the top was 11 degrees with 30 - 50 MPH winds putting the windchill temp down around -25! Lightly snowing through the day.

It may not have fallen down in Laguna, but it's definitely falling up here! The plow just left and and we had to dig out three cars that had been buried (as in no longer visible beneath a sea of white stuff), so that the plow could do his thing. He had a blower, and couldn't move enough snow..... he's coming back in the morning with a front loader.

Does your Bionicon have a switch you push for riding in snow?
