Default Ouch ( thats gonna leave a mark)

Went out for a little ride today and found myself a nice 2-3 jump to practice on. Well after a few landings I was getting the hang of things when I said one more time, as I came off the jump "wack" freakin shoe slips off the pedal and punctures (scrapes) my shin in four places . Yes it hurt, so I say I cant end my ride like that, so after one more attempt I do the same thing #**#. Anyhow I have learned today that I need tacky shoes 5 10's here i come oh yeah maybe some shin guards too.

You doomed yourself by saying "one nore time" and those pedals are like medieval torture devices. Heal fast bud you have some riding to do with us.

Take a Picture of it and add it to the tread! Take care you'll have a couple days off starting in about hour or two. ( Rains )

No no pics, wife has the camera at work. It would have been good right after it happened though. Now it is swelling up pretty good.

...you should never leave the court on a bad shot.

If I make a mistake like that, I keep going until I get it right unless a really serious injury or intense fatigue stops me. I would rather deal with the pain than the little demons that come from not finishing the job properly.

That's how i used to end my days on the mountain when snowboarding. i'd start getting too tired and the synapses from my brain to my legs would stop connecting and i'd start having stupid accidents. i used to say, 'that sucked. one more run. i can't have that be my last run of the day'. then i'd take another run and have a bigger spill. but now i'm older and ...well...older. so now i say 'okay, i'm done. meet me in the bar.'

yeah I just got them out the other day.
My foot slipped off the front of the pedal and I ran my calf over I guess.
Thankfully I was on an STR group ride and Nomad was there to patch me up good enough to get myself to the ER.

I totally agree. Clipless is the route to go. The only thing is when you fall, it ends up being hip, side, chest and heads that get thrashed. I WOULDN'T trade my CrankBros Candy C's for the split shins any day. Then again I rock the XC and not the DH. Shin guards are probalby a good idea.
