Hey so what do you guys/gals carry with you when you go out for a ride? I am looking for what kind of things might be useful that I can get down the road. I already have tools, well minus a presta adapter or pump that can do presta.

After every incident I've had alone in the wilderness on a bike I add things to my kit. I ran out of water once so I added iodine tables, had a good crash once and blead a lot so I added extra guaze, zip ties to secure a broke spoke, patched up Pain Freak on a recent ride
. I have used most of the items I carry with me.

If I know I'm going on a ride where there is a chance I will run out of water and a clean water source is not available I will take my Katadine Hiker pump water filter with me. It can fill my 100oz. bladder up in less than 5 minutes.

I have a quick question Ill a school type whistle scare a bear or mountain lion away ? You know the big chrome one.
I was thinking about having the wife carry one of those on her Camel back to blow if she needs my attention. I don't want it if it will attract mountain lions though. We have voice activated GMRS radios also . |
