Default Niner MCR9 Complete

Steve at Open Road in Pasadena put the finishing touch on my Niner build today by cutting my fork to size. The has been a really fun build and represents my foray back into mountain biking after spending most of my year on the road.

Thanks to everyone for your advice along the way. Thanks to Brian and The Path for the awesome wheel build and help with parts selection. Thanks to DeeZee for the hook up. Thanks to the other I purchased parts from and those that purchased parts from me to help fund this project (I still have Hope brakes for sale if anyone's interested, PM me for pics).

Not sure of the weight. I made sure to keep the wheels light but a steel frame with a suspension fork and Brooks saddle is not going to be svelte.

The parts list is as follows:
Frame: 2007 Niner M.C.R.9 Medium Root Beer Brown
Fork: Rock Shox Reba SL 29 100mm
Rear Hub: King disc black
Front Hub: WTB Laser Disc Lite black
Rear Rim: NoTubes Arch 29
Front Rim: NoTubes Arch 29
Spokes: DT Super Comp black
Nipples: Alloy back
Tires: Bontrager Dry-X 29x2.1 (front and rear for now) with Stan stem, yellow table, and sealant
Headset: King black
Top Cap: Stem Capper with Rouge cap from the Shakespeare Stout I'm drinking right now.
Rear Derailleur: XT
Shifter: XT
Cable: Dura Ace
Chain: SRAM PC-99
Cassette: XT 11-34
Brakes: Magura Marta SL 160mm rotors
Cranks: XT with Race Face 34 and Lexan bashguard
Handlebar: On One Flegal
Stem: Thompson 5x90 black
Seatpost: Thompson back
Saddle: Brooks B-17 chopped
Binder: Salsa black
Grips: ODI Ruffian lock on (will switch to foam grips once I decide if I like 1x9)
Accessories: N-Gear chain thing, lizards, Avid Roll-A-Majig, random saddle bag, Open Road gages, black, CORBA bell

Sorry for the poor photo quality

Very light build. I'm very interested in your future review of it. Those bars look at little bit futher out, but I guess that's your preference. When and where are you going to take her out?

Nice build. I have been dreaming about something similar for the future.

What's the story with the lizards on your brake hose?

The bars are actually close to a normal because of the forward sweep and then the back sweep. They seem pretty nice so far. Not sure where I will take her for the first ride. Likely sometime in January. Ankle is still tender when pedaling.

This company (Lizard Tech) gives them out at a conference I go to every year. I grabbed a hand full at the conference this year and thought they would look cool on a bike. They patented a photo compression algorithm use for aerial photography.

The Brooks is actually pretty comfy right out of the box. I'm jazzed about it already.
