Have you guys ever bonked after taking GU or RedBull?
I noticed that after eating a GU I started to get more tired and even sleepy. I also started to experience cramping and flat out fatigue. Would this have anything to do with being Hypo-Glycemic? I don't think I am, but I don't react too well with sweets. I want to sleep if I have too much sugar in my blood. RL |

GU (chocolate) and Red Bull have caffeine , which give some energy but dehydrates you, not the most ideal things to intake on hot rides. try drinks that don't have caffeine.
i've always been a fan of gatorade, but for extreme riding (as in long, hot weather rides) i used Ultra Fuel, that stuff has tons of carbs and will replenish you well and help you keep going. also, try eating bananas that works too.
