Im getting ready to build a 29er HT and Im concerned about being able to pull my Burley trailer with it.
Im currently using the alternate hitch (skewer hitch). I want a frame to run both geared and SS, discs, and a QR rear hub. Ive been looking at the Jabberwocky but am a little concerned about the horizontal dropouts using the Burley skewer. I know a lot of people recommend a bolt on rear hub w/ horizontal dropouts. Is there another type of hitch that would work? Anyone doing this type of setup? Should I be looking at frames with EBB or paragon type sliding rear dropouts only? Im also hoping to make this a budget build. Thanks |

possibly a white industries eno rear hub would be what you're looking for? it will let you use a framw ith regular dropouts without a tensioner, and also preserve ability to use the QR im pretty sure. i dont know exactly how the trailer attaches, but the eno seems to fulfill all of your requirements. it also broadens your frame choice by eliminating the need for an EBB or horizontal dropouts, even if it does require you build a new wheel.
hope that helps, good luck with the build ![]() -Bryan |

Uncle Rico, is there a reason you're using the alternative hitch? I ask because I'm getting a burley and it seems that the standard hitch will work with a horizontal drop out so long as you're using a tugnut on the drive side. This is theoretical based on my review of the Burley manual. It may not be the case in real life.

The standard hitch on mine wont work w/ discs. Are the newer ones different?
EDIT: I just looked at the Burley site. I didnt know they changed the hitch, it looks like the new design will work for me. |
