how random to find something like that...and what were you doing looking on the side of the road while you should be looking ahead unless you were stuck in traffic and happen to spot the rogue mtn wheel

Now, not to bash on Specialized (I own one), but do they make high-end wheels? I thought they used Mavics on the higher-end.

If you know that interchange at all (and I drove it every work day for nearly 15 years), being stuck in traffic there is not at all unusual

After informing a couple shops in the area where I found the wheel, the owner called me shortly afterwards.

He thanked me, but was pretty bummed because the wheel was toast, total loss.

DT 4.2D rim, taco'd

DT spokes, some were loose & bent

Stout Hub, bent axle & skewer

180mm Magura rotor, also bent.

Spec. Resolution Pro, ripped sidewall.

So four college students go out of town the weekend before finals for one last fling before their tests. They party hard all weekend and wake up late and hung-over on Monday morning and have to rush back for their first test. They get there late and tell the Prof they had a flat tire on the way to the test thus making them late. The Prof says, "No problem, just come back at 5pm tonight and you can take the final then." Very relieved that they had gotten away with the scam, the four go home to cram for the test and show back up at 5pm all ready for their final exam. The Prof puts them all in different rooms and hands out the exams. They are all overjoyed to find that the exam is just a one-question test. Until they read the question...
