Smile A disease for which there is no cure....

Hello- my name is Kevin, and I am an addict.

My drug of choice is bicycles.

I spend all my money on them. I've forsaken others for them. They rule my life.

I love to work on them, clean them, I've even been accused of fondling them (oooooh, the carbon stuff *tremble*).

But how can I resist? Some are drop dead gorgeous.
Swoopy lines, glossy finishes, slender and light-weight. *drool*
I am powerless to this sirens call.

Others ask, then, wince when I say how much, and for what.
But they fail to realize the joy it brings me when the addiction is fed.

They also don't realize the bang-for-the buck one gets with a bicycle.
It uses no gas, barely any parts, and goes as long and hard as the rider can with nary as much as a whimper.
Try that in your $1500.00 / mo payment 'car'.

Yes- it's sad but true. I've forsaken responsibilities for the purchase of a seat post, gear changer, handle bar.
I've done the mac-n-cheese, Top Ramen thingy for weeks in order to afford some new wheels.

But I don't care. They bring me joy and I love my bikes. Each and every one of them.

Isn't the first step in recovery admitting you have a problem. You are on your way to leading a full and happy life.

DAyum- way too high maintenance for this kid.

I'll stick with the two-wheelers for now.

I feel you brother, I held off buying a car for 3 months after I moved out here so I could buy a new mtn bike and yes I spend alot on bikes (currently I have 5 fully built with 2 frames sitting around)

Luckily I have a wonderful girlfriend that understands (and doesn't like expensive gifts). Also she knows that if she made me pick between her and the bikes she would lose. Its a good understanding.

Kevin, I'm right there with ya man! I've been addicted since I was very young. Unfortunately, I thought I had cured my addiction for a number of years, but it didn't stick. I'm also addicted to bicycles.
