Kevin, you're a nut job. Thats two great posts in a week.
And I couldn't have said it better. And don't forget. If, when I die and find out for sure that there is a god, there is no doubt that he'll meet me at the pearly gates with some of history's greats and invite me along for a ride. He also surfs, paintballs, loves football of any level, and even though he and I are lactose intolerant will have a bowl of captain crunch ready for me at all times. And you are the worst type of addict. The kind that cleans and repairs his own bike. If you are a true addict you take apart your dllr cogs and tenderly soak them in oil and then clean them until no muck of any kind comes from them. and always fondle your bikes. they are the only thing keeping you from a good dirt facial or other ugly mishap. I also love my bikes.

It's called BAS. Bike Acquisition Syndrome. It's not just the bikes man, It's the parts and clothes too!!
1. We admitted we were powerless over BAS—that our lives had become unmanageable (without another bike). 2. Came to believe that a collection of bikes greater than our own could restore us to sanity. (XC, FR, DH, CX, SS, DJ/BMX etc.) 3. Made a decision to turn our will and credit card numbers over to the care of our LBS as they are gods to us. 4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of our Bikes and gear, and how much fun it is to ride 5. Admitted to LBMTB, to ourselves and to another STR Member the exact nature of our bike-addiction. 6. Were entirely ready to have our LBS put a new bike on layaway anytime. 7. Humbly asked them to do so, to hold our checks until after payday, and not to tell our significant others. 8. Made a list of all persons we had given crazy ideas to with our bikes, and became willing to help advise them on their next bike acquisition. 9. Made direct efforts to help such people (with the help of STR The Path Adrenaline, JensonUSA, Wheel World, etc) wherever possible, except when to do so would jepordize an amazing deal on a bike or piece of gear we've been waiting to get our hands on. 10. Continued to take a personal gear inventory and when we had BAS promptly sought to fulfill it. 11. Sought through the STR, Craigslist and Ebay to improve our collection (even if that means selling off a few bikes to make room for something new), hoping only for knowledge of a great deal when we see it and the assets to aquire it without hassle. 12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to roadies, equestrians, and other trail users, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Amen. (This is in no way intended to make light of real addictions or the help that real 12 step program can be) |

The garage!!!!! Say it aint so man! How could you do that to your bikes! I have a wife who lets me keep my bikes in the house, one in the laundry room, two in the dining room and one in our office. She doesn't even really like biking but she supports me and besides she says we spent too much money on them to just let sit in the garage! Man I love her

Hi, I'm Mike and I'm a bike-a-holic.
Insert (Hi Mike here) Currently I'm at 6, and if I do it right she never notices a new one unless I try to sneak it into the bedroom. The cross bike is going up for sale, but I will be buying another one. And now I think I'm coming down with a case of the 29er flu bug....who knows? 7 is a lucky number, right?

The wife and I were at an all time high last year of 14 bikes hanging in the garage. We've done some trimming and brought her down to 5 and me down to 4. We've tried implementing the same rules to bikes that we do to clothes etc...if you haven't ridden it or used it in the last 6 months...it's gone. Her #5 is on the block as we speak!
