My Brother's Keeper
|
Being his brother, I have the dirt on him. Last year Toby challenged me to lose weight. I dropped an unhealthy 12 pounds in the first week, and he folded up shop all depressed. Now there are more of you to keep in this than just me. So good luck all.
For those of you that don't have a diet to follow, don't do one of those tomato/onion soup diets. Your cravings will get the best of you, quick. I swear by the South Beach Diet. It involves normal food, and the book was in the Borders bargain bin for like $5 a couple weeks ago. Good luck everyone. |

Please no. I saw Skinny in cycling shorts six months ago and my eyes are still hurting. It was a happy day for all when he was able to fit in baggies.

Just joined in. Looking forward to this.
My luck, I won't loose any weight at all, but what the hell. I am not willing to give up my homebrew beer.

Wow, quite a few last minute entries. Thats fine, keep adding to my winnings.
![]() As far as before and after photos go, I was gonna do this anyway for my own benefit, but it might be interesting to do maybe a photo a month to see (visually) how people are progressing. Can't wait to see what the final tally is, and good luck all. The only losers will be the ones who don't try. |

Chauvinist_Youth weigh in 1: a little early, but I think I might go to bed early and sleep in, Iv'e been feeling queezy since I ate some mexican food for lunch.
Current Weight: 217.5 lbs (that's pounds, not "local bike shops") ![]() I am sporting my used-to-be-favorite shirt, a mediaum sized Fred Perry polo in which my senior pictures were taken in and it was loose fitting. *Disclaimer* no sucking in or slouching was used to alter this picture, this is 100% usda approved prime beef. Also like the mention, I did not intentionally cut my head out of the pictures. I just took them myself and the ledge was not high enough to get my face. Seriously I got a great looking mug. ![]() ![]() Ladies, I'm available... on second thought, most of you here are way too old for me. Sorry you missed out. |

if this thread is for support we gotta know how much weight you're losing. I don't think winning is the most important part of this, but to get encourgement from the forums and other participants (although the winning is a great goal to strive for).
By the way, forgot to post I am 5'11". |

OK so i couldn't bring myself to scrape up the funds (i will paypal them if and when i've got some dough), but its the first day of 2008 and i weigh 151.5 pounds. I don't really care if i make it into the contest, but I'd love to get back down to 140 by my birthday (march 1st).

Happy New Year to everyone! I did my weigh-in the morning - I'll be PMing ODB with number (feminine modesty prevents public posting).
My first goal is to get to bed early enough every night so that I have enough energy to work out 6 days a week. I usually ride 3 days a week, but I need to get my butt in the gym or on the home elliptical machine on the other days. Gotta make sure to get in the weight training and ab work. Here are my hot tips for the week that I will be relying on: 1. Pickles are a great snack when yo're craving crunchy, savory stuff (chips, etc.). 2. Brush your teeth after every meal and snack with some minty toothpaste, use mouthwash, etc. 3. Drink a big glass of water first before every meal to help fill up - plus it helps you get in your recommended daily water, which I have trouble doing. 4. I'm only snacking on fruits and veggies. 5. Eat until you're "hara hachi bu" - translated from Japanese, this literally means "eat until you're 80 percent full." Looking forward to the first fatty ride. ![]()

I'll play along: I'm starting at an even 200lbs as of 7:30 this morning. I handicapped myself in this thing though since I didn't pig out over the holidays, and I've been off work and riding for 8 of the last 10 days.
Besides, it's not so much the specific weight as the feeling of fitness I'm after. That said, if I could ever manage to kick my chocolate addiction I could probably drop 15-20 lbs. My more realistic goal is to hit the 185-190lb range.
