A very special thank you to Dino & Coleko who really helped me early on, I am truly blessed to call you two my friends.

My original plans were that I was going to take the Chameleon and built it up for my wife who wants to start riding once she feels better from the c-section. However she then goes to tell me that she wants to test ride some bikes and find a geometry that she is comfortable with, these are her words (she really needs to stop reading over my shoulder when I'm on STR). Therefore I am going to take the cash and spend it on some upgrades for my XCL.

I joined this competition because I wanted a healthier life but also because I wanted to be a better mountain biker and I felt my weight was holding me back from riding the harder trails. I am still not as good as I want to be but I am a better rider.
Many, Many props Jason!

Congrats to everyone who took the challange and lost some weight - I lost a total of 8 lbs with the ups and downs struggle - I did get back on my bike though

Jason - when I saw you at the shop a few months ago, I knew I was in trouble and never going to beat your will power (I did get you to eat those lemonade cookies though) You've made some life changes in the last few months and every one of them has paid off!

I'm proud to know such a commited person!

To the other top loosers you rock! looks like someone gets a new frame

I totally spaced on posting for the 4/1 weigh in. After reading the results, I want to give some big props to PUGZ, and everyone else who made an effort. I didn't stick to my guns on this one, and the results show, with a final weight of 263.1 but its a start(initial weigh in was 272). For many of us, just making a start is the biggest step, so thanks to ODB and everyone else for getting this going.

Congrats to Pugz and of course everyone who took part in this challenge. For me it was getting back on the back after 1.5 years of not taking care of myself and not enjoying life... this got me riding again, teaching the kids about nature and eating a whole lot better. Best results... my wife is happy I am taking care of me. I smile more, I laugh more...

Congrats everyone, and thanks ODB for getting us off our "used to be" fat assess

I went down to Fullerton Bikes amd talked to Fullerton mike. He was real cool, gave me the gift cert and let me hang out and shop after the store closed (I got lost on the way and showed up at closing). Nice shop, some pretty nice looking Giants and Specialized, as well as dozens of other more tame bikes. I didn't even know the shop was there but I will be going back.

Haven't heard anything from the other winners. What are y'all doing with your winnings/frame etc.? And when are we doing a final weight loss challenge ride? I missed the first one.

I am still waiting for my money, Toby was going to be out of town till the end of the week. I'm going to be getting some new cranks, not sure what else, I'll have to see.

Zach, what did you get?

Couldn't decide so I'm going to stop by there after the sunday ride and probably try out some oakley shorts (since the cert will make them a "little" more affordable).

It's great to see all the support going around!
When I moved out from the East Coast about 2 months ago I weighed in at 220lbs. I've been doing my best to eat well and get lots of activity since then.

Drinking over a gallon of water a day has made the biggest impact. I keep drinking water throughout the day, it's part of my routine. In the morning I drink at least 16 oz with breakfast to get started.

For breakfast I go between oatmeal, egg whites, or shredded wheat cereal. I add blueberries and other fruit, usually a banana or an orange.

Morning snack, lowfat yogurt, fruit on the bottom.

Lunch, turkey sandwich or tuna sandwich with spicy mustard and spinach on wheat bread. A handful of almonds and lowfat string cheese.

Afternoon snack, another lowfat string cheese or an apple.

Dinner, grilled chicken breast or shrimp and a good sized portion of green vegetables, green beans, brocolli or spinach.

Desert (if I'm starving, which sometimes happens), frozen yogurt with fruit, strawberries, blueberries and rasberries.

Put all of this together with riding atleast 3 days a week and 2-3 times at the gym (lifting, not cardio) and I've lost 15lbs in a month.
