Default Anyone hit "the wall" yet?

I've been stuck at a 5- or 6-pound weight loss for a couple weeks now. Anyone else plateauing early? The good news is that i'm at my lowest weight in about three and a half years, and i've actually managed to put on a bit of muscle. I guess the next step for me is to finally cut back on my favorite bevvies.

Im finding it extreemly hard to drop lbs in the winter.. Seemed that the lbs just melted off in the summer.. wonder it the air temp has anything to do with it.. I freequently get the feeling that I am not warmed up while riding.. guess I need to push harder..

2008 STR Weight-Loss Challenge: 1/1/08 = 307.5 lbs | 1/20/08 = 293 lbs

Seems to me you're doing just fine. Nice job.

If it makes you feel any better, I can't remember the last time I had chipotle

I keep gaining as well. Hoping it's just an odd fluctuation.

But, have you tried doing something a little different at all? Sometimes you need to step up the intensity, or do different exercises since your body will start to get used to one thing. So, try cutting back a little here and there and stepping up intensity, or adding in something different as well.

My guess is more weather and lack of daylight

whats ur diet like?

start cutting all your portions in half and replace "everything" you drink with water. you will lose weight and feel healthier.

Remember though, going too hardcore can make you hit a plateau as well. Generally, woman need to consume more than 1200 calories a day and men 1500 calories MINIMUM. If you are working out on top of that, you need to eat even more. It's kinda counter-intuitive but you gotta eat more (healthy stuff) to lose... or else your body's metabolism starts going into a "starvation" mode and it'll be super hard to break out of a plateau (trust me I was at a plateu for almost 2 years after losing 25 lbs)! Mixing up the intensity and target muscle groups is also essential... Plateaus SUCK but they only persist if you let them discourage you, keep pluggin away and you'll break it =)

First you claim you're broke and now you claim you're gaining weight. LIAR, I tell ya'!

This weather has sucked in terms of helping my riding but otherwise, I love the much needed rain. Given the fact we're in So Cal, it's obviously short lived and everyone will be riding more soon enough. As for me and my diet (or lack there of), I've lost about 2-3 lbs. but odly enough, my pants are starting to fit looser and looser. That's usually a good sign. These sort of things take a while. Let's not be hasty and expect some overnight miracle. It's a change in mindset and lifestyle. Not a diet!

Toby, take my name out of your signature immediately or your pass to the san gabes is being revoked!

The Saturday of our last training ride I was 3lbs lighter than I was this morning (3lbs gain in just over a week). And I haven't changed anything in my diet and haven't gone out to eat.. We were at Subway getting lunch and I realized it was the first time in more than 2 weeks that we had gone out to eat!

Followed that up with a huge plate of spaghetti Saturday night.. and then Mex last night (I had a big burrito because from 6 am to 2pm I had a bowl of instant oatmeal and a Probar and that was it). Tonight we are following it all up with BJs. I am betting I will lose a pound by tomorrow. I think my body likes yummy food

So yesterday I competed in the twelve hours of Temecula . The 15 lbs I gained during the holiday season was a total handicap. It was like riding with a back pack full of rocks on my back . It sucked . before the holidays I was at 190 & still losing weight . I thought I can have a little cake ,a little candy , a little holiday food .A little turned into a lot so I was a total slug at the race. Three laps into it I was done. 5 1/2 hours was all I could hang with . I was so pissed & still am . I was in great shape in the summer , why did I let the holidays derail me. Probably just another addiction , food this time.My target weight is 185 for now . actually Im glad I suffered as much as I did , it will etch in my mind why I dont eat junk.Back to training hard & dieting for Junes race

I know, huh? I honestly can't remember the last time... but, it's for the best. Justin said we need to cut back to once a month.

It's been tough having do lunch every day for the past 2+ work weeks, but it's aight.

I went really easy today and just brought cans of soup and edamame.

Has someone forgot to tell you that muscle mass weighs more then fat? You're burning fat and gaining muscles. That could NEVER be a bad thing. Keep doing what you're doing and don't be discouraged.

BJ's is good; had it last night. I usually get their BBQ Chicken salad with BBQ sauce (instead of ranch) as dressing and no onion rings as toppings.

I know, but that doesn't explain it, I don't think. We'll see. I'm not really complaining right now, but everytime Justin hops on the scale he is down a pound or two.. and I'm going the wrong way!! Guess the weight lifting is finally catching up

Unfortunately, it seems for me the only way to keep weight off is to build a bunch of lean muscle mass that burns calories while I'm sitting around and sleeping. As soon as I stop hitting the weights the pounds pile back on.

We may splurge and get pizza. Otherwise I *love* the BBQ beef sandwich (even with the onion stings) and then get veggies instead of fries.

I'm in need of a "real" cheat meal.
